Vinyl for decorative items, decals and heat transfer

I would like to get some input on the types of vinyl I need.  I am ordering my cutter this week.  I am going to use it for heat transfer, I think I will get the Siser easyweed for the press.  What kind do I get for monogramming the clear ice buckets, stainless steel travel mugs, etc...?  Also, if I want to do decals, I assume I need printable vinyl, print on the vinyl and then cut it out.  What kind of printer/ink do I need?  I may have to put that off, I have an Epson using durabrite.  I need to keep reading and learning.
