Dont bother importing, just copy/paste from illustrator right into SB.

Text needs to be outlined and it helps to have everything as compound objects.  I typically outline text, ungroup, and use Pathfinder to combine it all as a compound object, Expand.

Check the Illustrator software thread for more info.  There are a few quirks, but copy/pasting is the only way to go.

Wow midwaste, never knew you could copy and paste into SB   I just SAVE AS .eps right into my plotter.  When I go into SB...whala, there it is! Will have to try it your way as well

I also save as .EPS and import into SBE.  I don't know if it makes a difference, but I save my .EPS in Illustrator 8 (Legacy Mode).  Newer versions may very well work, but I seem to remember someone mentioning that he had to use Ill 8 version for it to work.  I haven't tried otherwise, but Ill 8 .EPS does work.
