randyb 1 Posted February 15, 2009 I use 45* blades for standard cuts and 60* for real small cuts and for holographic cuts. When do you know when the blade is dull and needs to be replaced?
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted February 15, 2009 not being a smart a$$ here, but usually when you begin to notice that the cuts are not as good as they once were...if you have to increase the down force on the same vinyl to get a good cut, that's a good sign too. chefgary 4 Posted February 15, 2009 Just curious, can a blade be sharpened?
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted February 15, 2009 anything is possible but they are SO tiny I wouldn't attempt it. I once heard that cutting a few letters in tin foil would do it but I never tried it.
CyberChuck 4 Posted August 3, 2009 I know this topic is really old, but I just came accross it. One question came to mind when I read it - D@mn, John, how old ARE you? LOL! I haven't heard anyone talk about "tin foil" in a long, long time. Charlie
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 3, 2009 Old enough to remember tin foil,my friend. And old enough to remember what the term 'service' means. I can certainly remember shoe stores where the measured your feet and fitted you with the right size. And hardware stores where the employees knew everything you needed even if you didn't.
