sandman 5 Posted February 1, 2009 Was trying to open some eps files for editing in Inkscape including some that were made BY Inkscape and none of them will open. Can this program not open/reopen eps files?
firemalt 10 Posted February 1, 2009 nope... you'd have to edit the eps file in a different program.
desertdog10 0 Posted February 3, 2009 That just seems crazy to me. So what is everyone elses process. Here's mine(or was) -client send me a jpg of their logo -i copy then paste into inkscape -do the trace in inkscape -delete original and export to signcut Now I had been saving this traced file as .eps thinking if I needed more cuts I could just open in inkscape- but no dice. What do ya'll do? Thanks! -Jeff
routesmith 0 Posted February 3, 2009 It is nuts if you ask me, but once I get a jpg, trace it in inkscape, its stays as an eps forever, if I use it in SignBlaster, I import then I export it back to eps after if I have changed it, I dont keep many SBD files. tlzimmerman 11 Posted February 4, 2009 I save as an eps and as an inkscape SVG. Then i can always open and edit my original in inkscape if needbe. Extra step, and extra file, but it works for me. The nice thing about inkscape is its open source, and the community will continuously come out with updates and upgrades to it, as well as plug ins. I would be willing to bet given the project more time EPS functionality will be intergrated.
