tangtester 0 Posted July 3, 2007 I am new to the vinyl cutter world. I am looking into buying one for my needs. I will be using it mainly for cutter paint maskes for 1/10th scale model car bodies. 1) What is the small letter size that can be cut? 1/8 , 1/4 too small? 2) What type of vinyl should I use? 3) What cutter should I get? 4) The software that comes with it, can scan artwork be introduced and used? Thanks for your time
kenimes 42 Posted July 3, 2007 The cutter will cut small scale lettering and logos. I have cut 1/8" lettering without issues at a slow cut speed. Standard self-adhesive vinyl is what you will probably use. Probably only need our 12" cutter for the small things you are doing, but the 25" is not much more in price, in case you intend to do bigger things on down the road. I think you can load scanned file into the InkScape graphics program, then vectorize the file, then import to SingCut to cut out.
