  1. Right now I'm using an aluminum 4' level and a razor blade.  Your method would be much better.

I cut the same decals in groups of 50 to 100 that are 4" tall x 24" long.  I was thinking that a rolling trimmer would give me more professional looking results, be more consistent, and speed up the whole process.

  2. I need to purchase a rolling cutter/trimmer.  I would like any suggestions on which brand and size to purchase.  I would like to be able to cut at least 36" vinyl with application tape.

I work off of a large 4' wide x 8' long table.  I'm thinking I will put the trimmer on the table instead of purchasing one with a stand.  Any disadvantage to this?

Any advise is appreciated.  I would like to make this purchase one time.

    Thank you.

  3. I would like to be able to do a color design on a black cotton shirt similar to the attached picture.

I've looked at all the options but thought I would ask the experts.

What would be the best way do do this type of design on black cotton?  Cheapest way?  I want to stay away from screen printing although I'm sure that would be a good option.

    Thanks for any advise.

  4. Just curious:

For those of you that own a Sawgrass printer, how many 8.5 x 11 prints do you get out of a set of the standard cartridges?  I know it varies by what you print, etc.  Just an approximation.

Also, how long are the cartridges generally good for?  From what I understand the unit can sit for months with no problems.

I can't get over $325 for a set of cartridges.  Wow.

    Thanks.

  5. I recently purchased a press from Heat Press Nation.  I also purchased a Teflon sheet to use.

First thing I noticed is that even though the unit is set for 305 deg f it is actually around 325.  I turned it back to 280 and it sits right at 305.  I'm using two non-contact thermometers to check.  Is this normal for a press to be this far off?  (Probably so for an inexpensive press)

When pressing my first shirts, I used the Teflon sheet and could not get the Sisser Easy Weed Glow-In-The-Dark to transfer.  It just stuck to the carrier paper. I was pressing for 13 seconds at 305 deg (actual temp, not what the unit was set to).

I removed the Teflon sheet and it pressed on the first try.  Do I need to increase the heat when using the protective sheet?  Press longer?

I'm sure there is a trick here I just don't know...

Here is the Teflon "Non Stick Sheet" I am using: http://www.heatpressnation.com/pro-grade-non-stick-sheet.html

Thank you for the help in advance.  There is a wealth of information on this forum.

  6. A question to see if anyone knows:

USCutter offers the 24" on their website.  There is a 25" and 28" available on Amazon (both ship from USCutter).  Is there truly three models available in this size range or is one/two of them last years models?  I'm just wondering why there are three different choices.

I already ordered the 28" from Amazon but now I am curious why the different models.

    Thank you.
