2 layer color decals

    On this topic, I could find the registration marks option on scalp, but now I can't. Any direction?

    Is it just the wall?

    I am having extreme troubles with applying to walls. I just made the attached and tried to apply it to my wall just as a practice and it peeled right off with the tape. I am using the Oracal 631 and HT55 tape. I go over the tape a ton to make sure I have all the air bubbles out, but is there a such thing as too much? Really getting frustrated. Since I got into vinyl it's really not been my thing.

    SCALP Separating Colors Option

    Hey everyone, I am up cutting some vinyl right now. I took the advice of some of ya'll and purchased the Oracal 631 and I am making this fabulous Krishna decal for my wall to practice with installing larger vinyl. My question. I am seeing an option to cut by color, multiple colors. I know creating an image in scalp seems simple enough to separate the colors you want, but what about drag and drop my own work into SCALP? Is there a simple tutorial or walk through someone could help me with so I wouldn't have to separate in a different program? This would make my life. Seriously. Also, I read signblazer can do this. Should I download that, and do you have a simple walk through? Thanks everyone. If this current masterpiece I am working on comes out well I'll share a pic

    New vinyl for my IROC

    Same here. When I donate money to political campaigns and they send me a sticker I never apply to my vehicle. Too many people get so wrapped up and angered because you don't agree with them that they will mess up your stuff. Not even worth it.

    Another local business going O.O.B...

    True. Advertising is the most important thing a new business can do. Yet so many have no budget for it. As if opening a shop is some kind of guarantee for traffic. SMH

    Cutter feeding too much vinyl

    Hey ya'll. New to the forum and fairly new to vinyl! I am having an issue where I am wasting far too much vinyl. My mh 871 feeds too much vinyl when I select cut on SCALP. Sometimes so much that it falls off the machine. Is there a rule of thumb? I know scalp cuts based off of where your image is located on their graph, but how should the graph be set up as to not waste as much vinyl? I am using 24" rolls. Thanks, and please if you need any addition info leave a message and I'll get back to you. Much appreciated

    Which vinyl to use....

    Of course this has been asked a million times, but I am really struggling here, and I have to get to work shortly. I was using greenstar and having the worst luck with (was having difficulty) weeding and application. I literally made what I thought was an awesome statue of liberty decal for my wall and when I applied it the greenstar tape pulled half off no matter how gentle I was. I used the squeegee very well when applying the tape. No stone unturned. Which vinyl and tape combinations to you suggest for the following: Wall decals Car decals for windows Car decals for the body Store front windows Signs I have read good things about Oracal, but don't know which to get. I am getting pretty frustrated with cutting because if you don't get good results with anything of course youd want to quit. Also thanks to you guys I am no longer wasting vinyl at startup and I have it all figured out finding my origin points, and my cutter depth has been perfect.

    Cutter feeding too much vinyl

    Will try when I get home. Thanks slice. This industry is great. People didn't realize they wanted a decal until they knew someone with the means to make it. While its frustrating to me right now, I know when I get this issue resolved it'll be smooth sailing. So much more challenging then I thought it would be. Very cool

    <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Primal Decals" data-cid="405907" data-time="1445360372">
ya you mis understood bud. That image shows after the cut and advances my material 5.25" to a groove so i can cut it where my job ends and then that groove just helps make a straight cut thats all.After i cut it, i either remove my material or just reverse the machine to the starting point for a new cut etc.

how do I reverse the machine? My initial problem was when I start my cut the machine sends the vinyl through it and sometimes off. After the first time doing that the next will start where I want it to right near the corner and the vinyl stays put. It gets frustrating having to cancel each job and pull the vinyl through again

    Cutspeed cutpress #'s question

    I don't know what it is about today, but I am having trouble weeding my graphics. I lowered the blade so there is more exposed and I am running at cutspeed 30 cutpress 10. I read use lower numbers for more details, but I am having trouble pulling off the excess. Is there a guide to the types of graphics I am making, larger vs small more detailed? Thanks everyone for helping out this newb

    Cutspeed cutpress #'s question

    So more speed = more production only? I am learning so much from you guys and gals. Thank you

    Cutspeed cutpress #'s question

    I too am using the mh 871. I've had so many problems with the vinyl falling off (see other thread) and the blade carved in the machine. I bet I did mess up the blade. Makes sense. So the half a card thing is inaccurate?? Also who's skeeter? Is speed important and for what?

    Cutter feeding too much vinyl

    Thank you so much everyone. Origin point worked great, and now I know where to start the vinyl... at the cut groove I was above that by a couple inches. So very appreciative

    Cutter feeding too much vinyl

    I just got in from a work get together, so I'm off the computer and using the mobile tonight. I'll post the mat screenshot tomorrow. Thanks for the assistance everyone. I am going to get my cutter running tomorrow when I get home from work and follow the steps you've provided to see if they solve the issues. You guys rock

    Cutter feeding too much vinyl

    <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Eazy" data-cid="405736" data-time="1445186566">
Back to topic..... Is it feeding before or after the cut job?

Feeding before. Someone on here mentioned setting the x and y coordinates. I am not setting them. Should I punch the numbers into my machine that are found on scalp when I set an image in place? I was under the impression the software cut based on where the image is located automatically. Yeah, wasting a lot of vinyl. So annoying when I have to cancel because it fell out. I think it usually happens after the first cut. I pull my vinyl over by about 6 - 8 inches incase. But then the cut is made that far up and the rest is useless. How should I be starting a feed? Thanks for your help everyone
