Q

i already use 631 it works pretty good for wall graphics i want to purchase the new app tape for the 631 but would like to know if it works with all or most vinyl or just 631. Also will 651 work for car graphics and wall graphics can anyone tell me suggestions for app tape to use with each. I'm pretty sure i wouldn't want to use the app tape made for 631 on or for car applications. Sorry if this is confusing i've been on a crash course with video tutorials forums etc..etc... on vinyl, vinyl applications, app tapes, so i tend to ramble Lol... Thanks

I am using windows XP, I have a Us Cutter Model Mh71, and i am running it directly to my Cpu using my Com1 port. I recently updated to the newest version of inkskape and i signed into signcut to see if anything new was out and i was asked to migrate to SignCut Productivity Pro since i chose the winning picture selected in the contest. I clicked migrate it said i would recieve an email to verify but i never recieved an email so i tried using my machine the next morning for a small job i had and this was the error message sent to me after clicking cut using signcutx2. License has been migrated to SignCut Productivity Pro. Someone please let me know what i am doing wrong. I am losing money and i promise to never Migrate again.

ok thanks i will continue with 631 for walls and try 651 on some cars maybe even my own.

Hello everyone i just wanted to know if anyone has tried the greenstar vinyl on any walls and what were the results. Also what about spackled walls will any vinyl work on those type of walls. I am thinking of purchasing the greenstar starter pack but i dont want to waste $140 on vinyl if i can avoid it. Just dived into my own little business and the funds for vinyl products have gone down drastic so i need to avoid any pitfalls. Thanks in advance

i am using the clear app tape now on the 631 and i am having problems when applying to a wall, the letters stay stuck to the app tape so i was going to try the new app tape made for the 631 but i wanted to make sure it works with other vinyl so i could use it on cars also.

so if i use 651 on his car and that has permanent adhesive wouldnt that destroy the paint on his car. i understand app tape is more of a personal preference and i understand use less tack when doing vinyl inside on walls i guess my question would be what type of vinyl should be used on cars and i mean on the actual body of the car not the windows.

ok thanks for the info one more question i actually made another post for this, will the new app tape for the 631 work with any or most other vinyl i have a friend who wants me to make him some flames to put on the side of his car what type of vinyl would you recomend i already got a reply that avery fdc and some other brand were good choices but i would like to stay in the orcal family if possible. do i need a different type of app tape for vehicles and walls.

Ok after researching on copyrights i have a whole new outlook so yes i will be staying far from that area of decals. I have one more question.I really dont want to waste money on a ton of vinyl with a glossy finish especially if i want to use on my walls at home so what other brand would you suggest that wont hit you in the pockets and has a matte finish. My wife is a school teacher and wants me to make some cool stuff for her class room i was reading somewhere that they have chalk board vinyl is this true. Although i am practicing with the vinyl i am planning on selling some of the things i make. Sorry guess that is two questions.

great thanks for the speedy reply so would you suggest the 651 over the 631 for customer based products what about application tape will one specific kind work for both greenstar and or oracal. I have a customer who wants a dallas mavericks logo and a portland trailblazers logo i was hoping the starter pack would provide me with enough of the colors to start out but i noticed they did not have a grey in the pack. Also what about pricing i am trying to figure out how to price decals i have a 25" cutter so i can make a decent sized decal but not sure what to price them at especially if i am using more than one color.

Ok i have a question lets say i have a circle and i want to cut it in half after i change it into the nodes wit the little dots how do i go about splitting it in half with out the circle turning into a blob. I have yet to figure this out can anyone post a how to on this.

I finally got my us cutter working on my pc even though i purchased it for a mac. Now that i have made a few cuts on transfer paper i'm ready to take a dive into the world of vinyl. I'm trying to make decals for cars since i coach my sons football team and basketball team. I need help choosing what vinyl is right for the job or can i use the same type of vinyl for car decals and t-shirts. Can someone help me out with this issue i would prefer to go to a local shop in the DFW metroplex to purchase supplies but have no problem shopping on line. I just prefer to see what i buying rather than going off of a image online being that i am new to this. I hear thermo flex is good along with other brands but like i said i'm new to this and dont have anymore room for error. Once again thanks in advance for any productive info. Q. :throw:

Hi is their anyone who knows how to download the correct driver for a mac and a us cutter refine MH 721 machine. I had Kenimes helping me out but still got nowhere. He took me to the FTDI website to download the driver for a mac G4 i believe it was FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_1_7.dmg but every time i try and install it it tells me that their is nothing to install. I had another mac user come by and try and help me because i thought i wasnt downloading it the right way but he told me that the problem is with the drivers not how i'm downloading. Can anyone help me this machine has cost me time and money and i have yet to get anything accomplished. I've been looking at this machine for almost a year and have yet to make anything with it. I went out a purchased the Keyspan adapter and i have it connected to the com port and when i start up sign cut and check the cutter settings the only thing i see is /dev/cu.keyserial1 or /dev/cu.USA.19h91P1.1 and none of these are working with the machine. Can anyone with mac knowledge help me out.

Hello fellow cutters i just purchased a used G4 mac and a new 25 in vinyl cutter and have no clue on why it's is not working. I have hurt my buisness drasticly by not learnig more about this machine and how to operate it. I was givin somesoftware also called signcutX2 and have no clue on how to use it either. However i have done some research online but still have no clue on what they are talking about. I am used to using photoshop i run a store making custome heat transfer shirts and decided to expand and start doing custom logos and decals and was pointed in the US Cutter direction. I also bout the mac becuase it came with corel draw 11 and Illustrator Cs2 as well. This is far different from using Photoshop 7.0 and so now i'm trying to figure out where to start. I really would like to get into making team shirts since i coach my oldest sons football team, and after getting pricing for jerseys and decals for helmets i would love to figure out how to do this also. What i need is for someone with goood knowledge of this machine and a mac to help me out a little. I'm in a whole new world, and its driving me crazy along with broke. Also what the hell is a Keyspan i keep seeing that as i research is this something esle i need to buy because my mac is not ready the machine at all the only way i can get it to cut is to hit test button directly on cutting machine.

hi i just started using inkskape and have been trying to arch my text rather than sticking with plain straight text i need it to wrap arount whatever picture i trying to use can anyone help and give any info on this subject.

sorry for the delayed resposne i'm in plano i was reffered by a place called sign solution in plano to a company called glantz & son they were highly recomended and local in irving, TX i believe the guy at sign solution says thats where he gets all his supplies and they do C.O.D also i think i might check that place out. But as for now i have ordered the thermoflex for shirts but have yet to choose a vinyl for vehicles becuase i'm not sure on what to try. I also want to do some wall art but i'm not sure what type of vinyl is used for that as well. Thanks for any info you can help me out with on this issue. Q. :yes:

I went and purchased the Usb Serial Adapter today and tried to plug it into the side of my us cutter but it does not fit can anyone tell me how in the hell to use this adapter. I tried to take the screws out of the side of my cutter where it says com but that still didnt help the adapter fit. I am using a mac and was told to purchase this adapter but i have no clue on where to plug it in or how to make it fit can someone please tell what to do.

Ok sorry i overlooked that part i now have the adapter attached correctly i was trying to plug the adapter directly into the cutting machine rather than plug it into the chord itself and then attaching the other end of the chord to the actual machine Duuuhhhh!!! I guess stress will do that to you.

This is the info i was given by Kenimies but i have no clue of what he is talking about i told hime that my cutting machine says US Cutter Refine MH721 after i read what he sent me. The keyspan adaptor should plug into the gender changer on the Copam, which I assume is the cutter you are referring to.

i purchased the keyspan usb serial adapter it says DB9,RS-232 on the box USA-19HS also but the com port on the side of the cutting machine has two screws on both sides of the 9pin plugin and the adapter will not fit becuase of the screw plugins on the adapter and the cutting machine itself. I tried to take the screws out on the side of the cutting machine but the adapter still will not fit because of the screws on both sides of the adapter also and those screws do not come off.

Hello i sure you dont remember me but you gave me some info in the Us Cutter forum. I just went and purchased the Keyspan adapter everyone has been telling me to get and now i get home and try it out and it does not even fit the cutting machine. I tried to take the little screws out of the com plugin on the side of the cutter just so the adapter would fit but that still did not work so now i must take it back to the store and try and get my money back can someone tell me if i purchased the wrong item and what it is i need to purchase i still have yet to use my cutting machine and it was purchased in May. I am very stressed out right now and could really use someone with knowledge of thes machine to help me out. Thanks Q

Thanks for replying is it possible for us to schedule a time to meet in here so maybe i could have you walk me through a few things. Rather than learn to create a project i would rather learn using a bitmap I already have like the Oakland Raiders Logo i got from the internet, could you possibly tell me how to go through the process of sending it to the machine making it the size i want it, and how to use the machine with regular transfer paper rather than vinyl i havent purchased any becuase i would rather learn how to use the machine with what i already have. Also if i go and purchase the Keyspan adapter maybe you can walk me through the setup process to make sure i do this right. I've had this machine for two months and have yet to have a project made by it. Only way i can get it to cut anything is if i press the test button on the machine it's self. When i try and send the regular SigncutX2 logo from the mac it just sits there and does nothing so i was sure i hadn't installed something correctly.
