  1. I just want to add more registration marks. The reason they have the ultra marks option is for longer contour cuts.

This isn't in the printed vinyl, or how it was loaded. This is do to having registration marks at the end lengths of the page, with none in the middle. The more measurements taken the more accurate the contour will be.

I hope someone can explain the process to add more marks, and use the ARMS feature as their support claims is possible.

  2. Thanks Bikemike, and your correct that will work for some applications, but for some images this is not acceptable for my clients.

I know it can be done as per their support response email, I'm just looking for an explanation of the complete process.

The length of the cut is 23in, but with only four registration marks its certainly the issue as the ultra mark option adds eight in total.

  3. I've started printing longer sheets of vinyl that require contour cutting, and realize my contour cut lines accuracy when cutting aren't as accurate. Their off by (.006in-008in) randomly around the artwork.

I want to add additional registration marks in Vinyl Master for using with my Graphtec's ARMS feature. I see you can add ultra marks under the manual selection under the contour cut feature, but you can't add them while using the ARMS feature.

If someone understands how to add multiple registration marks while using the ARMS feature, and will explain the process I really would appreciate it. I'm using Vinyl Master Expert Edition.

I've already opened a support ticket, and the response from Vinyl Master is actually really sad considering I was expecting a logical response with an explanation of the process of course especially considering the cost of the Expert Edition.

Thank you in advance for your support.

  4. I'm trying to cut mirror film, and I have not been able to get my registration marks scanned. I'm using VinylMaster XPT, and can't figure out how to change the ARMS type registration marks.

I see you can manually add them if your using a cutter without it, but didn't see an option for ARMS to adjust the marks other than their size in general settings.

My Graphtec CE6000 works great on other materials, but this one isn't working.

I find if I apply transfer tape over the marks to make them less reflective the laser picks up the edge of the tape rather than getting to the registration mark. Is their a way around this?

    I really appreciate any advice.

    Thank you.

  5. I have upgraded 3 times to Vinylmaster XPT, and I did it using Futurecorp's  auto draft payment system.

There's some problems with the way this process is currently setup.

    1) I never get a remaining balance statement reflecting how much more I owe. I simply get a Paypal deduction from my account. This information is very important for multiple reasons for your endusers, and every other company I've ever done business with includes it.

    2) In the event I want to prepay my account, or pay it off completely I have no phone number to call in an make a payment to you, or contact you about my billing directly. I messaged Vinylmaster, and asked for a contact number, and never received one. I had my Paypal charge unknowingly block a payment for security protection, and after calling them they of course removed the security block. I then sent the emailed form they Futurecorp sends you, and asked for a contact number to cover the issue directly with them, and the ones I'm writing about now.

I never got the number. The email was from a Wendy Pritchard which simply says your account has been reinstated.

Please let me, and others know how you'll be correcting this.

    Thank you,

    Vince

  6. Actually the resolution is fine. The issue I have is when printing candies, and metallics I like to be able to tweak the color gamut for the spectrum I'm looking for. I believe the color settings adjustment for art work is what the software has to manipulate this, but it never hurts to ask first.

I want to know what settings in VM XPT are used to manipulate the printable color gamut for your art?

Thank you though for your advice.

  7. I now am using VM XPT, and the software's capabilities are simply amazing. I'm however wondering how to adjust the colors of my art to match my screen better when printed. I already use a Colormunki design monitor/printer calibrator, but still find the need to make minor adjustments on certain designs with special effects.

What part of VM is used to adjust spot colors to be effected when printing? I already have ICM switched off so the software has full control of my printers color gamut.

I also noticed when using the soft shadow FX,  that adjusting to a higher resolution made my printed art come out pixelated where the shadow effect is. Is this do to using a higher resolution setting? What settings are considered optimal in VM for printing soft Shadows?

Thank you to everyone providing support.

  8. I'm using VM XPT an after watching the video tutorial I still can't break a node at a set point. I use the contour generator for most of my tracings, and I'm not sure if that matters, but it seems virtually impossible to break a node from the pattern I have. Please assist me. I viewed the help section as well, and tried using the Knife tool as well, but it only will erase groups of nodes, and not the specific ones I require.

Thank you all for your support.

  9. The substrate has a clear backing layer. I've cut it in one pass with ease, but I do notice a very slight dimpling in the material where the cut line is. I didn't know if this was normal, and decided to ask for some advice.

How do I set up the CE-6000 for two passes with lower pressure. I'm using VM PRO.

    Thank you for your assistance.

  10. Once again a quick response.  No one flamed you:rolleyes:

I simply stated as before if you haven't anything constructive to add to a post in a help forum which is what this is don't reply. I never begged for a supplier name, I asked you, and can prove it if you like. You asking for help with software is exactly why I brought this to everyones attention. You want help cause YOU my little friend can't handle doing the research in the help section of VM, and using the integrated training videos. I guess someone should play the game you did with me, and let you know if you get warm to the answer. Lol.

Searching Google using a certain groups of words is no different then telling you to search in the software users manual until you get what you think the answer is. I'll let you know when your warm Lol:rolleyes: You have no background to tell anyone there's a flaw in the software, do to your lack of knowledge using it. The software is not SCALP or any other brand you want to compare it to. It's fully capable in the right hands.

Here's something to consider don't get mad when someone calls you out for acting foolish:P when you didn't have to respond to the original post. Your board in what your doing so you hang around forums posting nothing constructive to see yourself write.

Treat others as you would expect to be treated. Futurecorp, and others on here answer your questions on the software virtually immediately. Why? Cause that's what there here for. HELP FORUM.

I didn't care to tell you what type of vinyl as it was obvious you wanted to play games, and that's why you sent that ridiculous response in a PM, hoping no one else would see it.

Here's a tip. Search Google for the term "pointless posts" I'll let you know if find the person its referring to LOL. :D

  11. I want to start by saying this forum is wonderful to help others progress in their vinyl business.

I was written to the other day, and I just have to write about this, cause it just proves how some people truly make no sense. I posted a help topic regarding printable "vinyl quality control". I'm having trouble finding a company who can provide a substrate without debris, and blemishes in every roll. Here's the post to review to see what I wrote.

The person who responded then sent me a private message explaining this:

It took me several weeks to find and several hundred dollars of wasted money. I will tell you if you find the right one or similar product but since we are competitors I won't bring my own rope to the hanging.

Please explain the purpose of responding to a post which is clearly looking to here some ideas on quality brands of inkjet printable vinyl your familiar with to get a PM like the one above? This same person is in the VinylMaster category of the forum requesting help with design software, and expects a response to his/her post I'm sure without some sort of game.

It's really Interesting that you expect someone to help you learn the software that is required to produce products to sell, but you yourself won't discuss the raw material used to apply the designs to possibly help someone else which is what the forum is designed for.

I myself believe in treating others as I would like to be treated. This is a clear case of pure contradiction, and game playing that I hope others don't practice. If your not trying to help someone then why bother posting??

  12. What's the brand you using currently? I just can't seem to get lucky enough to get a roll that's fully usable. I'm not sure if they just don't have quality control in place, or they feel a certain amount of imperfections is acceptable, but its so costly in the sense of time. I currently am recording the blemishes I find using a digital microscope to discuss with the manufacturer for their take on making things right.

I usually get a free roll, but it doesn't cover the ink, and time to find out your print isn't usable till after the fact.

I currently am going through about 4-5ft of blem vinyl per 60ft roll. I wonder if that's the industry standard as being acceptable?

  13. Texas craft is one of the worst for consistency I've found. They have issues with too much adhesive on certain rolls, and blotching that effects your prints when completed. Thank you for the advice though. If anyone is using Texas Craft/ aka Papilio I seriously suggest you review the material closely for inconsistent application of the inkjet primer prior to printing on it.

It's burnt me so many times I had to request a new roll.

  14. I've been doing graphics for about a year now an consistently I find printable vinyls from various manufacturers seem to have issues with smudges, debrit, and blemishes that are invisible, but once printed on is reflected in the graphics making you waste time, and money.

What's the most consistent quality printable vinyl on the market? I require inkjet vinyls for dye.

Thank you for any support provided.

  15. I work with full scale CNC mills, and routers in my other business building controllers, an after using Vinylmaster Pro for a little under a year I think the one useful feature I would like to see added the most is a cut simulator. If your familiar with CAD/CAM software which essentially is the same as vinyl cutting software do to it being a CNC machine, but for softer substrates, then you may have seen the software that has a simulator built in for machining operations.

The simulator in CAD/CAM software allows you to run a machining process to look for errors in the design before running it on the piece of raw material you plan on using. This same module when used by designers cutting vinyl could eliminate any wasting of material on new jobs as well as any possible testing modifications made on old jobs. This would be an amazing tool for doing graphics, and catching abnormalities before they bite you with general vinyl cutting, or print, and cut. Setting up a new system would be far more streamline, and reflect immediately if your settings weren't right for a particular setting on the cutter.

Printers have a print preview setting, but in actuality all it does is reflect where the image will be printed on the media. It would amazing to see this integrated module integrated in them as well. If you made a color change you would get to see it prior to printing to make sure it fits what your looking for.

The learning curve would be instantly diminished as one could try trial, and error for the desired results they want along with training themselves on virtually all settings to see what they would do in real time.

These modules save the end user money, and the vinyl software company implementing this would be well ahead of what's available today.

    Just an idea.

  16. The way to create your graphic is as follows.

First do what Macon explained. Remove the pictures background.

The next step is to make a box. Once the box is made select fill tools, and under fill style check the circle for none. This will make your box invisible essentially creating a border for your graphic.

Then select wire frame mode to be able to see the invisible box. Manipulate the box's size around your graphic.

The next step is to right click on the box, and select object and display tools. Then select order, and send to back to put the box behind your graphic allowing the graphic to be viewable. Once your happy with the graphics position within the box select both the box, and your graphic then right click , and select group to make them a single piece of geometry. Once this is completed when you click on the graphic it will manipulate both images together.

Your next step is to create your cut contour lines using the contour cut module. You'll find the invisible box will be traced around making you a border for your graphic.

Writing this process takes much longer than completing the task as most things do with software.

Please turn off caps locks when typing as its considered yelling, and disrespectful.

    Thank you.

  17. I agree, with you. I just feel the tools should be set for a more specific genre of work to the end users needs. They made one piece of software to support digital graphic production, and straight vinyl cutting. This is done through four versions of software each expanding its features to support both types of manufacturing.

If they offered a program to support straight vinyl cutting, or graphics with the option to expand through a module purchase to bridge into one or the other means they could strictly focus on tools to support one business model, or the other. This would allow further expansion of specific tools used by the end user.

I see a purpose for another tool specific to graphic production. I've had some artifacting  happen while adding contour cut trace lines to certain images. This typically means prints are wasted if I didn't catch the single node in the wrong place. I would love to see a trace scanner be added to review your image prior to producing it possibly catching abnormalities allowing correction before you print them. This tool would be an amazing time saver for graphic production, less useful for standard vinyl cutting.

I have no experience with any other vinyl software, so I can't comment on them, but VM has proved to be outstanding in value, and I recommend it to everyone.
