  1. Moody, There is enough boats here to keep us both busy for the rest of our lives!!!

Im game! When do we start  ;D?

I was just your way again down at Edisto this time....of course being me im day dreaming of what I would wrap on each boat that went by

  2. I worked in a sign shop right out of college and we had a large CNC we cut it on. Definitely an advantage over wood in the case that even a pretty large sign can initially be hung by 1 person. Again not sure about price compared to wood but we very rarely used wood unless we were building a free standing sign that needed support...if we didn't build out of aluminum that is.

  3. Still will need a router and cost of painting BUT another option would be to use High Density Urethane. Not sure what the cost difference between that and wood is but it's really easy to work with, lightweight, and looks as good (if not identical) to a painted wooden sign.

  4. 2010 F150 with Fiberworx complete wide fenders kit and full long travel suspension with 37" tires. Wrapped the fenders in Avery SW900 Gloss Black Metallic to match the existing Tuxedo Black Metallic paint on the cab. Put about 12 straight hours into this project and worked well into early Sunday morning. So big it barely fit into the garage!

  5. Looks good! Ill post pics of my truck wrap this weekend.

looks very good.. im getting ready to do my first as well.. any pointers?

Clean the surface very well and make sure there is no paint damage or "bubble" that may show through. If doing complex curves make sure to "pre-stretch" to avoid lifting or tearing if the vinyl becomes over stretched.

  6. Minority racism? Segregation? I do not think these words mean what you think they mean. They're free to fly the flag all they want. Everyone else is free to let their opinions be known about it too. We are going through a period where people are deciding that since we don't all agree on it, we don't need it in our public spaces like courthouses and capitols. The flaggers can cry about it all they want but that's all that's going to happen. Try as I might, I can't see them as the victims here. The swastika was traditionally a good luck symbol until the Nazis ruined it, but nobody's flying swastikas off the back of their truck and saying "Oh woe is me, what's wrong with these Jewish people for being offended by my good luck symbol!!!"

The Amazon and Ebay stuff is just corporations deciding that the next time someone kills people while trying to start a race war, they don't want to go back through their twitter feed and see the shooter recommending their site as a good place to get rebel flags. I don't blame them one bit. I don't make retail decals and, even if I did, the odds of selling to the next Dylan Storm Roof are small. But the odds of selling to a gun-toting redneck who wants to be all up in everyone's face about his flag are close to 100% right now.

Minority Racism....those who don't support the flag are violently lashing out at those who fly it and also showing hatred for whites (even those of us that don't fly it) and think becuase they are white means they "owned slaves" or whatever the excuse is. Segregation...this same group that is fighting for "equality" are those that protested "all lives matter" and said only "black lives matter". If you want to be equal then stop using color as an excuse.

I think I know what I'm saying...I mean I live in the heart of where all this s*** is going down.

Nobody flies the Swastika cause its NOT THEIR HERITAGE like the Confederate BATTLE Flag.

  7. I've been asked to do some flags for truck hoods and roofs...and I will lol. The flag is not and will never be illegal to produce...flying it is a choice many southerners are making but that's becoming a new target of minority racism. Lots of violence and theft going on to people that show pride in what they believe. Funny how those creating the issue are the same ones fighting for equality and re-establishing their own segregation because they don't agree. Give 'em an inch, they take a mile. Only thing I agree with is NOT breaking the law and cold hard cash from my customers  ;D

With that said I won't produce anything that inflicts racism or supports racist groups in any way shape or form, but I won't censor my work in the same respect.

  8. Ill have to check some of those out when I get a moment. The problem I had with Birdfont was I couldn't change the kearning (or isn't clear how) and some of the characters came out MUCH larger and others came out smaller so no consistency across the board. I thought that was strange being that it came from the same native file and each character is a pre-sized .SVG to be uploaded and still fluctuated and looked awful. I would love to be able to create and use my own fonts so maybe one of the other options will help. Thanks!

  9. So I finally took the time to draw out a character palette for a type style I have been using for my truck graphics. I have been basically recreating and manipulating each and every word or phrase from scratch and after spending countless hours doing that, decided it was time to create a standard set of characters to use. Being a graphic artist, the creation of this was the easy part...but my weakness is taking this and making a usable font that I can simply type into illustrator and the kearning and outline automatically apply as if it were simply downloaded from a font website. I have taken a stab at Birdfont and cannot for my life set this is up to read and look how I want. I'm getting frustrated and at the moment will continue just using the individual characters to create the words each time. A lot less time consuming than before but would love a simple solution to just type it. Any advice?

  10. Okay...I HAVE to do something like that to my dash panel. How did you wrap it so well?!

It was just black plastic when it was sent to me. Wrapped in Avery SW900 Glossy Black and then applied the 751 Matte Black flag over the top. Hardest part about this was working with the openings and designing the flag to work around that and be still be seen.

  12. Nicely done. I love doing full wraps. Actually looking to push my business more in that direction and less of the little "here and there" type jobs. BTW hows the wrap holding up over dodge with bedliner on the sides? I used your pics as reference when someone on the Wrap Society asked if it was possible  ;D

  13. I just did 6 shirts for a friend with an iron. Pocket logos so I was able to "distribute" the heat evenly over the small areas. Did one large t-shirt logo for myself and it was more of a pain. Took alot of moving and pressing but eventually came out and looks good. I wouldn't do a batch order with an iron again though.

  14. Thanks everybody!

Coaster36 I am willing to part ways with the logo and have done for several members on here...BUT I do charge the design cost and "usage" fee for the files. Also prefer that the logo is only used personally and not resold...this is what sets my work apart from others  ;). PM if you are interested.
