  1. What is he sticking it to? Glass? Car paint?

Maybe he did not clean the surface well or let the adhesive get exposed to windex or alcohol from not drying the surface? Multiple factors could cause this...oily/waxed surface, temperatures too cold for application, or just bad vinyl could cause this.

I don't buy cheap vinyl just for reasons such as this. I mostly use Oracal 751 or 951 for glass and Avery SW900 wrap vinyl for anything on painted surfaces such as cars and trucks.

  2. Adobe Creative Cloud...

Not only do I get access to the newest of the new Illustrator but also Photoshop, Indesign, Muse, Fireworks, Flash, Bridge, Premier Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver....and much more. Plus FREE stock images/vector image library and other member perks.

I know most people won't have the need for all this but it's great for anybody who doe's graphic design as well as cutting vinyl like I do.

  3. I cannot recall seeing any people in the graphics side of this business mention InDesign by Adobe.

Yet, I would think it's the way to go for print media creation.

I use InDesign daily...moreso page layouts than actually designing. Leave the logos and images to be done in Illustrator and Photoshop then just simply link into the InDesign template and package for print.

  4. Started as a graphic artist but now I do creative and brand management for national distribution company from 8-5 on weekdays....then I get home and run Moody Blue Designs for the remainder of the evening until I go to sleep and do it all over again. Dedicate weekends to large installs such as full wraps and time consuming jobs that I can't squeeze in in my "after hours".

  5. All about them Gamecocks! Even though they suck this year!

uggg yeah I have pretty much given up on watching the games this season. However after Saturday we have a good chance of making a comeback and maybe at least send the Tigers home in tears. That's about the only thing we have going this year...now we need a new coach and a good recruiter and we will be back in action. With the right staff we could maybe see an SEC championship in the near future.

  6. What R-tape did you use? I've only used wrap vinyl for a few small things and I loved it so much that I've considered using it for a lot of vehicle stuff that I'd normally use 751 for.

I made myself a small decal out of 3M carbon fiber wrap recently and could not get app tape to stick to it at all, but that's probably because it was carbon fiber and not regular wrap vinyl. Also, if you think white is hard to weed because you can't see the lines, try carbon fiber!

Just the regular R-Tape nothing fancy. I have used this on carbon fiber also and not had any issues...only the fun of weeding lol

  7. Buy a license for Sign Cut Pro and get the Illustrator Plug-In. I design in Illustrator CC and get it cut ready...then file>send to sign cut and boom its cutting all from my iMac running El Capitan OS X 10.11.2. I typically don't do anything in Sign Cut except cut. Being a graphic artist I prefer doing everything...layout, tiling, registration marks...in Illustrator prior to sending to Sign Cut.

  8. Another truck graphic from Moody...go figure  ;D

First time I have messed around with wrapping a cut graphic. Avery SW900 Matte Black....will never use any other material for vehicles after the ease of working with this. I have used it for solid wraps before but combined with R-Tape this was the easiest install I have done...even easier than my standard 4x4 decals with 751.Thicker material needs higher cut pressure but this would not have been possible to wrap around the bed using the 751 I would have normally cut this from...plus the air-release grid makes application a breeze and no need for a wet install. Applied both rear graphics, side sponsors (also cut from the Avery), trimmed, and post heated within an hour. I think there was more back and forth discussion on the design than actual production and application time.
