OK I bought my cutter last Feb. since then it has been a really good investment. I made my initial investment back within three weeks of my purchase. I can stay busy with it when I want to and it has brought in quite a bit of extra income. Until this most everything has been "copy" from Google images, trace into SCALP, edit/add/subtract content, cut, deliver. It's time for me to get into a real vectorizing software program. I've downloaded a couple of the free ones (sign Blazer I think was one). They had a very early 90's software feel to them that I didn't like. Photography was a hobby of mine and I was pretty familiar with PS# (boot leg copy back in the day) and PE Elements (legal copy this time), but my graphic design skills have not been tested. I've looked briefly at Corel Draw, AI, and PS whatever is the current corresponding number this week. Can you guys help with input on what you like and don't like about these and other softwares. I don't really find the webpages too informative of the products, just more of a teaser to get you to buy. What's good? What has a user friendly interface? and what Has a pretty realistic learning curve?

I just put a blank piece of printer paper on the sticky side and give it to my customer to keep it from sticking to the other pieces in the stack. you could do this for cardboard mailing envelopes.

I've looked at that thread already, it's not the one i'm looking for. The one I'm looking for the people were talking about buying double walled plastic cups with straws and trevis tumblers, and someone was talking about some of the stuff they would buy at the dollar tree.
-
There was a thread a while back where some people had posted links to places where they order things like water bottles, tervis cups, t-shirts, and etc from. I've searched for it and can't find it at all. Can some of you please post up some links to sites to get these items at good pricing. looking to do heat trans and vinyl application.

sweeeet thanks!!

select the path you want to type on. right click and select transform then rotate. it will have your trxt move to the underside rather than the top. then you can right click and flip it. it'll take some tinkering with and probably a "how'd I do that" moment but it'll happen.

Where can I get vinyl that looks like tread plate polished aluminum?
-
I figured it out. What a pain in the A$$ SCALP3 can be for some of the simplest things.

I need to add font to the bottom of a circle in scalp3. but it always types with the bottom of the letter touching the path/circle. Is htere a way ti invert text when typing so that the letters in essence would hang from the bottom of the circle from their tops rather than their bottoms?

I'm looking for camo type patters for a customer to use as paint stencils for firearms.
Looking specifically for something that resembles Multicam

Thanks!!!

I have a local guy asking for stickers. The way he put it was like a roll of stickers that a politician may give someone to put on their shirt. so paper printed stickers on a wax paper roll. maybe I could sub it out

I'm looking for a vector of the backside of pistol shell casings. Where the primer is and the caliber stamp. It'll be used for a local gun group to put their group name in on the same circumference as the caliber (45ACP, 9mm, 223, 40S&W). vehicle rear window decals.

So what file types other than SCAl can you open with SCALP?
-
Can you open a SCAL file in another program, and can you open anyother file type than a SCAL file in Sure Cuts A Lot? If so what are the programs?
-
ditto with the above. if mine is for specific customer or business I name it with the name of the customer.

So if you price check your competition how do you go about doing it? Do you just call them up disguised as a potential customer and ask for a price quote? I mean I guess after awhile they would catch on to your voice and who you are.

Maybe a stupid question but AI is a stand alone program correct? I don't need another Adobe program to attach it to?
