    REFLECTIVE JOB

Thanks for the help guys but this deal fell through. apparently the guy wanted the drivers to pay for the decals out of pocket. at $50 a piece ( which I thought was a bargain) they're balking. of course I don't blame them. If my boss wanted me to buy something to put on his truck I'd have issues with spending $5. Oh well who's next.
  2. I just had a guy call and ask for a decal for the back window of his rollback. that would be 14Hx48W. It is a double sided arrow with "it's the law" in the center of it and s"slow down" on topand "move over" under it. He wants it in silver reflective. I can't seem to find reflective in silver anywhere. any one know where I can find it? I'm looking for a mid-grade reflective that won't cost more than $150 for a 24x10yrd roll at the most. Probably price it at around $125. He has a number of trucks that he wants them for. decal only no install.

Ewwwww I'm not liking what I am hearing here guys. I was planing on laying 651.

Price...may be more than I can chew.

I wouldn't do this for $450 if you have to cut vinyl and layer each one. You're cutting three times and layering three times for each decal. I usually do $3-$4 each on orders of 100 and those are just single color decals. No way would I do a three part layering job for the same price. Just my $0.02.

    Just lost a customer... maybe

It's probably worth giving him a call in a few weeks to see how it's working out. The guy obviously doesn't have a clue, and seems like he fells like he's helping his nephew out along with getting a cheaper price. Keeping an open line of communication open with him will give you the oppertunity to talk with him if he has any issues with his new decals, and then you'll be able to remind him of your superior product. Remember we are customer driven in our field. He's just a guy tryin to save a dollar even though it'll end up costing him later.
  6. I have a roll of this that a customer bought for me to cut some logos to go on t-shirts for here. She does heat pressing. This stuff is super new to me. I've never cut it before. It seems really thin and has a clear backing on it. Any advice on how I need to go about cutting it and what I can expect?

    Rolly Polly

So you're cutting some graphics and watching tv while the cutter is doin it bidness. When the cutter is done you don't pay any attention to it since you're engrossed with what you're watching on tv, then you look over and notice that 50 yards of vinyl have just silently unrolled itself in the floor. What do you do? How do you roll ot back up evenly on the tube? Of course this is hypothetical and I am in no way looking at a mound of vinyl on my floor.

Siser Heat Tranfer Easy Weed Vinyl Newbie

so a quick update. I cut a few samples for her to try out. It's all the same design so no crazy setups and resets. She called me today and told me to cut the whole roll for her in the one design. I use 6 inches of material for one cut. $5 a pop for the whole 10 yrd roll that she bought. SCORE!!!

  21. Yesterday I started doing my first two layer graphics on some mirrored acrylic license plates. I'm laying white Oracal 651 over Black Green Star innermediate. The layering is going fine, but no matter what metthod I try I cannot get the grapgic to lay on the license plate without holding bubbles under it!! Can someone please give me some advice? I've tried applying it with liquid and dry. I've hinged it, and freehand set it. I'm not sure where to go from here.

  23. I'm trying to get a Blackout Shadow on a file. I cannot get it to work properly. When I go to object-shadow and set my edge to 2.0 then select the blackout shadow box it doesn't add the blackout. I can change the shadow layer to blackout in its preferences window and on screen it looks like a blackout shadow but when I cut it it is still a normal shadow. WTF??? I'm so frustrated with this right now. PLEASE HELP!!!! I did it with no problem at all the other night on the same file. why won't it work today??
  24. Hey guys thanks for all the advice and tips. I gotta finish these up this afternoon. Ill let you know how it goes.
