  1. I understand how to do layered shadows and have a clue how to do just a shadow without the overlay.

    Here's my question.

I want to do layered fonts, a larger character with a proportional character over the top so the shadow or outline shows equally all the way around the inside character.

Clear as Mud?  Let me know if I need to describe the effect better.

Also are there shadowed (2 part) fonts available?  or are these all done with overlays?

  2. My first shadow/layering project.  Now I have to figure out how to do outlining.  Every time I try using a Large then slightly smaller font, I have to streatch it out and it's still the same size?

Do You use a special FONT set for that?  sure could use some hints.

  3. I've tried this image in Inkscape and don't have a problem tracing, BUT, I am sure there is some filter or enhancement that I am not getting.

This image is so crappy, grainy, wobbly that InkScape finds thousands of holes in it.

Anyone willing to help make this file for me please?  Then tell me how you did it so I learn something here.

Only need (2) two colors, this will be red ON black ON white background.  Finished product will be 23" Wide by 44.5" High

  4. This might be an Inkscape forum question or a Signcut question.

I do all my design with Inkscape, text layout etc.  It's internal Export to Signcut is flawless for TEXT.  Any font, and size text.  Works so good it's almost automatic.

    Here's the rub.

I have tried to import into Inkscape many different file types .bmp, .jpg, .png, .ai, .svg and a few others.  Inscape opens them just fine.  I define page and image size, well within the capabilities of my cutter and Signcut software.

When I use the Export feature, sometimes it opens signcut and sometimes it just doesn't.

Either way, when Signcut opens there is nothing there, the standard image is not there and neither is my image.  I have tried several different formats, color, b&w, graysacle, line drawings, vector clipart and nothing happens.  I have tried opening the files directly into Signcut and still no good.

    Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit - 2gb ram

    Signcut Build 1.07 WIN

    Inkscape 0.47

Attached is the image I have been working on, and I have tried reducing the physical size too.
