  1. That's AWESOME you got it to work, NukleoN!! Did the tut answer the questions, above in your previous thread post i.e. "cut" layer creation, hand drawn reg marks, etc.? All I know is every(decal) job I have from this point on I will be using the tut's setup as my template...because it's proven to work now. You're in Valencia, huh.....I may be contacting you to do some design work in the future. I have your email and website info already. I'm not sure if my store site url is in my signature, but just google "CornyTees" and there I am.
  2. I had the same problem...couldn't seem to get anyone to respond to my questions on LP & SCP.....maybe no one knows the answers, but jupacreations(Paco). I noticed your sample file orientation (in the LP24)... The right most reg mark it mentions is actually the other pair of reg marks. So looking at your sample file on the thread, the two you questioned with 'OR'...are actually the incorrect ones. I know, I know....it's frustrating because the same thing happened to me. My paper would shoot out the opposite end of the cutter and it was driving me NUTS!!! So place the sample file print, exactly the way you have it. Basically, the paper or media is oriented perpendicular to the cutter(portrait). Align your first reg mark to the bottom reg mark(rightmost reg mark), then proceed on from there. jupacreation's tut link (I mentioned in my reply message to you today) Check it out and see this clears it up for you. http://www.jupacreations.com/downloads/How to contour cut correctly with SignCut Pro_Corel_X3_4_Illustrator_CS3.pdf
  3. Paco..... OMG!!! OH...MY...GOD!! (that's what we say in the states when we have a breakthru!!! It's wooooorrrrking!!! U....R.....DA MAN!!! (another US slang phrase... !!) I used the file you sent (How to contourcut with Corel X4-Illu CS3 and SignCut Pro with three marks) with the included file. That revision worked better for me than the original version I printed a month or so ago. The only minor miss was when I imported the contour cut into SCP, it specified that the import had 2 overlay duplicates; it asked to delete or not....I deleted them, but it show all the layers, not the contourcut only (like the screenshot). Which was fine because it WORKED!!!!! Thanks....!!!!
  4. ...However, there was a little bit of language barrier ;~) A couple of questions pertaining to your instructions, just for my clarity: You mentioned.. "In signcut pro I set the reg mark offset to 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" When you say "reg mark offset", do you mean Blade Offset, located in "Cutter settings"? "You can change the standrd offset of 10mm to any other value and perform your CC and you will see the deviation will change accordingly." "Standard offset" Do you mean Laser-X or -Y Offset values in Contour cutting Settings? "Then go to advanced contour cut and follow the steps. Your origin First marker is the corner of the square shape printed with the round vector nearby." My advanced Contour cut function doesn't give you the option to align markers. I'm sorry, you have to give me the terminologies or function titles as they are on SCP....it'll minimize my confusion hence less questions... Using Simple CC process, I setup the alignment on the corner of the square like described, the laser moves to the opposite square corner, but moves too far (about .25"). you mentioned if the distance is more than 2mm away, I did something wrong. I'll tell you what....is there any way possible you can send me the step by step screenshots of your instructions below....send them to me via email
  5. Paco, Thanks for step-by-step instruction...
  6. My problem is this....I've downloaded the 'Noob' NEWBIE manual and followed it as much as I could using (Illustrator), that is. The results I've been getting using the sample files, test cuts, and my designs are really close to success...meaning the cut will output or print to the cutter on the A4 media. The pen plot lines are skewed away from the design as if it wasn't calibrated correctly....and it's frustrating because I followed every step to the letter in every tutorial. There were assumptions to made or questionable steps in some of the tut's, such as "the roundcorner marks....for easy navigation and setup on the laserpoint for real cutting" this step is using Corel; however, I'm using Illustrator and adding crop marks don't work in the same way. When I start the test contour cut print on the cutter (to the contour lines on the design), they are skewed. The reg marks are plotted inside, outside, or simply skewed from the inkjet printed reg marks, therefore, the contour lines are plotted with the same skew. HOW DO YOU ADJUST THE SKEW IN SCP? SBE is very clear in describing how to adjust alignment to the contour line; however, I don't want to use SBE cause my "weapon of choice" in my decal business will be a Mac system. Based on the "Advanced Contour Cutting" thread/link document you suggested in a previous thread, once SCP is setup there's no need for adjustment thereafter. What do you need to know to help me get these problems resolved? If you need the sample .eps or .ai file I'm using, I can send via email or PM? Thanks!
  7. I've been struggling with my contour cutting cuts on my new LP24. I've used SCP and SBE software with no luck. Seveal posts were posted on this forum to resolve my issue(s), but it's painfully obvious that I'm getting nowhere. My visual learning style is really getting the best of me... I'm really close to success on SBE but...I think it's my PC, which sucks; however, I'd like to use my G5 Powermac tower PPC CPU for all of my vinyl cutting needs. Anyway....If you're setup and operating successfully with a LP24 and SignCut Pro, I'd like to schedule a meeting to compare notes and visually see your operation, if you don't mind? I'm more of a visual learner.

    SCP won't "Cut Out"

    I actually tried the "contour cut" search in the SCP forum and got an incredible amount of related threads on contour cutting....how was I supposed to find this link in that "sea" of threads...LOL!! It's actually explaining the process using Corel, which I don't have; but I think it'll help me get over this learning curve wall I've been struggling with since I bought this LP24....I hope. I'm using Illustrator 11(CS2), CS3, and Inkscape. Do the same features exist on Inkscape as Corel? It looks very similar to Corel in some of the features. I'll post my results for others to view. Thanks CRD (paco)

    SCP won't "Cut Out"

    By "origin", do you mean move the carriage to "home" position? for ex. moving the carriage physically to a starting point on the media, (in offline mode) press the registration mark button on the front panel to set X,Y to 0.00,0.00. Yep, did that initially before inserting my media or A4 sheet. Thanks for the reply, prestonservco.

    SCP won't "Cut Out"

    Ok....I'm almost there....I got this LP24 cutter and SCP (SBE too). I'm going thru some pretty frustrating periods during my learning curve here.... Problem: Example contour cut import (from SCP's example folder) file was imported and setup per the tutorial on the SCP site; however, when I arrived to the "Cut Out" button on the Simple Contour Cutting function....the LP24 spits the (landscaped placed) A4 paper OUT the opposite side it should (away from the knife assy)!!!!javascript:void(0); Am I missing something on the Image or cutter width and height settings? Should I leave the cutter width/height settings at 24"x1968" or change it to 11"x8.5"? Should the image size settings always be smaller than the cutter size settings? Does the imported image need to be activated in a tile or something (dotted contour lines activated)? If so, let me know "HOW?" or where to find the answer....If not, can someone give me more suggestions or a solution. I've searched everywhere to find the answer.javascript:void(0);

    Signcut help please

    I'm a newbie as well (to SignCut Pro and vinyl cutting)....and I had the same problem during SCP's setup. The "Setup my system for contour-cutting" tutorial is what got me past this same point. Check it out on SCP's site. Click on "Plotter setup with SignCut" ---- "How to setup specific cutters with SignCut" ----- find your plotter (I'm assuming it's a Laserpoint 24) ----- Select "Step-by-step walk through guide to contourcut" PDF document. You have to "Calibrate Laserpoint Offset" (under "Settings"--- 'settings') first before performing the Simple Contour Cut function. It will plot a 'plus' sign or 'mark' or 'cross' or "plotted sight" (or whatever you wanna call it) on the A4 page you inserted, align your laser in the center of it, hit 'OK'....theeen go to Simple Contour Cut function and setup the reg marks there and you're ready to press 'Cut Out" at the end of the sequence....I learned the hard way, too...LOL! ...well, I guess you don't need the tutorial much since I spilled the solution to your immediate problem; however, it's still a good tutorial to have handy on hard copy....Good Luck!
