Hummm.......maybe something is moving. So your saying when you go to weed there will be a few spots not cut. If it was offset you would have a lot of areas not cut all the way. Have you tried cutting the same simple shape to see if it repeats?
-
Here is what I like also. 4 wheels on my Graphtec.
-
Maybe its your font. If its not doing it on other letters then something is weird.
-
Couldn't see results since Im not a member. But that is the same stuff as what I mentioned above only in a roll.

Your not going to find any solvent based ink to work in the printers not made for it. It would eat the head up. Only the wide format vinyl printers is made for the stuff, and they are $7000 and up. They also have heaters to heat the vinyl prior to printing. The only vinyl your gonna be able to print on is the Papilio inkjet vinyl. And these people carry it. http://www.hyaz.com/inkjet%20waterproof%20vinyl.html Also can be found on ebay. I have this vinyl/paper and the finish comes out flat, not shiny.

I cut some reflective Avery red and white vinyl and I noticed it tears pretty easy but I didn't really worry. But now I have a customer complaining about how easy it tore and he threw the letters away. Is this typically the norm compared to regular vinyl due to how its made with the aluminum powder in it? Or is there better material out there?

Yea, yesterday I found out the Arlon is stretchy like the 3M, but at a much more affordable price.
-
Well I will have to say the Arlon I bought off Ebay is way better that the Oralite junk. However I doubt its better over time than the 3M. But some of the stickers I am cutting dont need the high quality/cost material. I just needed vinyl that the customer didn't tear when removing it from the backing paper.

Ok, I have to update this thread now that I know the facts. The reflective vinyl that I have that tears easy is Oralite 5700 that I bought from tigandbaby off Ebay. Total junk. I do know now that the 3M brands and some Arlon I bought from worldwidesignsupplies on Ebay is good stuff. Thanks for friends on here who helped me find this.

Received your sample just now. And I have got to confess about the Avery reflective not being any good. The reflective I have that tears easy is Oralite 5700. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! Bought from "tigandbaby" off Ebay. I have some Arlon 2450 here that is equal to the 3M, but it dont have a label on the inside. Bought from "worldwidesignssupplies" on Ebay. So the 3M and this Arlon vinyl I have here is great for tear resistance. Avery, I dont know. So I learned something today thanks to your sample. Nothing like a friend who sets me straight.

Have a safe and happy holidays.

Usually the metallic series is in two categories. Metallic and Ultra metallic.

I have gotten some matte black from them and they were very good to deal with. But all I need is a piece in a envelope for a tear test. I would send you a buck or so paypal if you need me to. Thanks. Dennis

How much are they giving you of this white reflective? I just need a little to compare it to the Avery brand that tears so easy.
-
All I have is 50 yards of 3M matte white I dont need.
-
I would be interested in how good 3M's reflective is. The stuff I have now is easy to tear when lifting from the release paper.

Dont forget, you can make a positive or negative letters, depending on what you weed out. In other words you can weed out the letters, or weed out around the letters.

Check your manual for the OFFSET ANGLE. Page 4-50. Default is 30. Or do a complete reset by holding down the up arrow and turning on the machine. -

I use a few drops of baby shampoo with water. Been using it to install vinyl and window tint.
