  1. I just got CE5000-120 from US Cutter and set it up. I got two nice large detailed cuts, then my third cut has been a disaster... The blade is cutting too deep on the right side of the design- even going through the backing- and then barely scratching the vinyl on the left side of the design.. I have adjusted the blade depth and down force and slowed the speed way down to 3 and have tried every possible combination over the last 5 hrs and can't get it to cut right... the pressure is always off from left to right... Anyone have ANY idea what is going on??? Any help would be very welcome!! Thank you!!!
  2. Okay.. Update.. US Cutter swears that the machine was not refurbished, but couldn't explain how warrently info got into Graphtecs system or how a filled out warrenty sheet got into the box.. they have refused to replace the machine.. They did however, send me a new blade holder and blades and that seemed to do the trick. I haven't had any problems since. No explanation on why the blade holder was causing the problem... We are up and running now and learning the little quirks of the machine.. like I have to start all cuts with the roll advanced at least an inch from the blade.. I had to put a strip of tape across the ledge between the cutting strip and the mounted sensor because vinyl kept getting caught underneath it and ruining cuts... now the vinyl glides right over the top smoothly now.... etc.. etc.. Thank you for all your help! I greatly appreciate it! It was a rought start, but we are going along now!
  3. I wish I could call and yell but everyone is closed GRRR.. More time for me to stew I guess...
  4. So I called US Cutter yesterdeay morning.. they have no idea what is going on and said they would send me a new blade holder and set of blades.. they were supposed to arrive today... they didn't come... They also told me to make a tech support ticket.. I did that yesterday morning and they said someone would contact me within 24 hrs.. it's been almost 36 hrs and no contact... I have orders backing up and I am so frustrated!! My husband is even more frustrated LOL! I picked up some matte vinyl to test... a 24" roll.... Same thing.. right side cuts fine if I have the force set to where it is supposed to be and then on the left it doesn't hardly scratch the vinyl... GRRR!!! (And these rolls are lying perfectly flat)
  5. Thanks for that piece of advice! I think I am going to have to head bed and get some rest.. I will be calling US Cutter tomorrow... sigh....
  6. Is there a way to adjust the machine so that the automatic placement of the blade leaves that much room at the start? Or you just always manually start it further up?
  7. I shut down the machine and was able to get the jammed vinyl out without a problem.. I just hope that the jamming didn't cause more problems...
  8. the plotter was cutting near the top of the vinyl and the edge of the vinyl was pushed forward and down into the ledge in front of the cutting strip and it caused the vinyl that was under the cutting strip to jam up as the rollers tried to move more vinyl forward.. make sense?? clear as mud..right? Yes.. the GT5 was from H and H, but I live in the Pacific Northwest
  9. NO.. it was supposed to be brand new
  10. I am starting to wonder if this machine is a dud.. when I pulled out all the warrently information, the warrenty sheet was already filled out by someone for this plotter (the serial numbers match) in Jan of this year... and I thought I was getting a brand-new machine ?? hmm?
  11. meaning cut too deep at right and too shallow on left
  12. okay.. just tried a new roll and it jammed when the rollers were bringing the vinyl back to the starting position. I had to turn off the plotter and take out the roll.. restarted with orgin point in a different location and same result..
  13. yes.. they are at the edge and tight... you said earlier that something changed.. it was the color of vinyl
  14. It's only 24" wide and I am cutting it from the right side of the machine
  15. No.. I haven't tried a new blade.. I will need to purchase some back-ups because I don't have any on hand.. I am wondering though why the blade would still be cutting on one half, but not the other?? Would blade damage to that?
  16. It also doesn't matter where I start the orgin point on the vinyl... the cut is always off the same way
  17. Yes... reloaded it 3 times and still no difference... I had the roll unrolled about 3 feet each time to create some 'drag' on the back end.. This third design is only 6 x 6 inches so to see such a huge difference in such a short span is baffling me...
  18. I was wondering about the vinyl laying flat myself.. it seems to 'puff' a little in the middle.. but then I expected that if that was the case that if I moved the design to the far left of the vinyl and cut there that the pressure problem would flip..but it didn't.. it always is heavy on the right, light on the left.. I have adjusted the blade in every direction but it doesn't help. It is a different design than the other two I cut.. but that doesn't make sense why that particular design would cut 'off'
  19. I am using GT5 Intermediate vinyl and tried everything from force of 14 clear up to 23
  20. No vinyl in blade holder, cutting strip all the way down, blade set low doesn't even scratch the surface of the vinyl, blade cassy is firmly on the track... I am so frustrated...
