  1. WOW! Thanks so much! That solved the problem. Thank you, thank you!
  2. Yes, the lines are not in the AI file, but show up in the SB file.
  3. The customer gave me their logo in a pdf. I imported it into Corel and converted it to an "ai" file, version 8. When I open the ai in Sign Blazer and view it in wireframe, it's got a bunch vertical lines in it. Any ideas? I've attached the original pdf and the SB files. Thanks in advance. 4. We purchased this equipment to set-up our daughter and son-in-law in business. They quit before they really got started and left us holding the bag. I am a Realtor and my husband has a construction company to run. We want to sell the equipment. We paid $15,000 in Feb. 2012. It has been barely used and is still under warranty. We'd like to get $11,000. The equipment works fabulously. 48" Mutoh-made PrismJet VJ48 Ecosolvent Printer 54" Q54 Vinyl Express Q-Series Cutter w/ARMS FlexiSIGN PRO 10 Software We also have a customer list of 160 customers who have purchased $265,000 over a five year period that we obtained from a promotional products company. We're near Boise Idaho. I need ideas on how to sell this equipment. I've had it on our local craigslist for about a month without any action. Help! Thanks for any suggestions you might have! Kim

Need help on Weld feature in Sign Blazer

OK, so this is really a newbie thing--I can't get the file to upload! I thought I had it when I posted the question, then I just tried again and it won't attach. Sorry for not getting it! Why won't the file load? Kim
  9. I have a logo that I'm trying to cut in heat press vinyl and I can't get it to weld. It's a compass star with two circles that pass through the points of the compass. I'm trying to delete the portions of the circle that pass through the points so it can be cut out all in one piece without the extra cuts. I've tried weld, total weld, and combine objects and nothing is working. This logo was drawn in SB. I think that maybe the problem is that the star isn't being recognized as an object (I can't get the program to fill the star with different colors - I can only change the outline color.) The attached file is in wire frame view. Please help!! Thanks in advance!! Kim Parallel 45 vinyl cut2.SBD
  10. I posted part of this question over on the stencil board yesterday, but now my question is mainly regarding pricing, so I'm posting it here. We need to cut stencil letters somewhere between 22" and 46" tall (customer hasn't decided yet on size), overall length of will probably be 40'. It is a sign for a bowling alley, and they want their name running down the side walls of the lanes, and in three places outside, for a total of 7 applications. The look they want can be found here http://murreybowling.com/Murrey_Bowling/Bowling_alley_side_wall_graphics.html scroll down to see the Empire Bowl picture. This company's work is digitally printed on 4'x8' boards. The customer wants us to paint a similar logo on their wall. The customer may also want an outline around the letters in a different color (if they can afford it). The sign will be going on freshly painted cement block walls, so the surface is uneven because of the grout between cement blocks (hence no option to use vinyl lettering). We figure that it will be pretty easy to keep the sign straight, since we will be following a line along the cement block. We figure we will have to cut the thing up into several pieces to be able to handle it. Obviously, there is much more work is involved if they want us to go beyond our 24" capability and we have to piece it together. I'm thinking that I'd use 30" wide Oracal 810 spray mask to cut 24" letters to allow for a top and bottom margin to hold the stencil together. We have a Copam 2500 which will cut 24" material. We use Corel Draw and SignBlazer Elements. We are planning to put on the paint mask and spray the lettering with an airless sprayer We are mainly painting contractors, but we got the Copam to do our trucks, job signs and hopefully be able to do jobs just like this one! Has anyone worked with something this large before? I need suggestions on: 1. How to price this thing . . . for 24" letters and for letters larger than 24" which would require tiling the sign. 2. I'm thinking we should double the price add if they want an outline around the letters in a second color, since it will be exactly twice the work. 3. Any suggestions on working with such a large application? I know this is a lot of questions, but I tried to be thorough and give enough info. We have only had our machine a few months, and only done work for ourselves. This will be our first paying customer, and we don't have a clue what to charge for this! Thank you in advance for your help! Kim

    Large Lettering Stencils

We need to cut stencil letters somewhere between 22" and 46" tall (customer hasn't decided yet on size), overall length of will probably be 40'. It is a sign for a bowling alley, and they want their name running down the side walls of the lanes, and in three places outside, for a total of 7 applications. This company's work is digitally printed on 4'x8' boards. The customer wants us to paint a similar logo on their wall. From looking at the previous posts, I found Bren Inc. and the Ultra Cut II looks like it might be the thing to use here. We'd like to save money by using one stencil cut if possible. The customer may also want an outline around the letters in a different color (if they can afford it). The sign is going on cement block walls (freshly painted), so the surface is uneven. We have a Copam 2500 which will cut 24" material. We use Corel Draw and SignBlazer Elements. We are planning to put the stencil up and spray the lettering with an airless sprayer (we are also painting contractors so we have the equipment for that). Has anyone worked with something this large before? I need suggestions on: 1. How to price this thing . . . obviously much more work is involved if they want us to go beyond our 24" capability (I'm saying 22" max for that, allowing 1" on top and bottom to hold the stencil together--is that enough?), so how much more should we charge if they go larger and we have to piece it together? Plus, how much should we add if they want the outline? 2. We would need to cut two different stencils if they want the outline, correct? 3. Has anyone worked with the Ultra Cut II? Will it last long enough to get 4 to 7 applications? We will need to do the first 4 right away, then store the stencil and do the last 3 signs when we paint the outside down the road--up to a year later. 4. Any suggestions on working with such a large application? We figure that it will be pretty easy to keep the sign straight, since we will be following a line along the cement block. We figure we will have to cut the thing up into several pieces to be able to handle it. I know this is a lot of questions, but I tried to be thorough and give enough info. Thank you in advance for your help! UPDATE 5/20/10 3:30 p.m. I spent some quality time on the phone with the guys at Bren Inc and at US Cutter. The Ultra Cut II would be reusable, but might tear when we pull it down. It wouldn't go into the grooves on the cinder block grout, so we couldn't spray it--it would have to be cut in by hand. It looks like we will have to use paint mask, with a new film for each application. My main question now is pricing, so I'm going to re-post my question over on the pricing board. Thanks to all that looked at my post. Kim
