  1. Using this as a baseline you can then give some estimation to the worth of your friends page. Would cost you approx 30 thousand dollars to get to a level of likes as his. Either he did it by paying or alot of linking and online work, People do not go to facebook to buy products. But is is a good means of advertising, Getting your name out there, etc etc. Their promotions use the content you have and display it thru your friends list and their friends varied on the past content they have liked and shared. The More content you have the easier it is for your paid promotion to work.
  2. Offer money, or just pay facebook to promote your page. Any page with a million followers surely makes some good coin. I would highly doubt the admins would allow advertising on there for free or any reasonable amount. Social media advertising is very expensive. Last company I work for had a marketing budget of over 2 mil and that really would not scratch the surface of the social media outlets that were available at that time. Google ad-words alone could easily burn that up in a month on conservative targeted marketing. Blast out a few 25 dollar campaigns on FB and see what happens. If nothing then your only out a hundred bucks and up a few likes in the process.

Matte Banner Material - After Printing

Sounds like to much ink to me. What printer are you using? What inkset? Have you tried reducing your limits on them colors? Canned or created profile? What media are you using?

    We took the plunge!!

Connect to your hub or a switch. Not directly into the computer. Just assign everything a different IP. Yes. All my printers are in other rooms. One is approx 50' away from the computer that runs it. The VM-10 is a spectrometer to help with profiling if you get that involved. If not there are literally hundreds of profiles to choose from out there. Are they setting up the equipment and connecting it all for you? Sometimes that helps setting things up in the production manager as I could assume if your have never done that sort of thing it will be very confusing at first with setting presets and output profiles. If you go to the Mutoh FTP site you will find a batch file to download with many presets for the 1324 that will help you get started very easily.

    We took the plunge!!

I'm here, lol, What cutter did you get? and running two rip stations with the same file will be alot of issues I do not suggest it at all. But the printer will connect VIA Ethernet and most plotters you will have that option also. Mine were quite a ways apart for a while. Now they are in a completely different room than my main rip computer. Everything is thru ethernet so location is no problem at all. Maintenance on the 1324 is a breeze. Swab around the heads and wiper and your done. Been running mine for about a year and a half now with no issues at all. Did you get the vm-10 also? Lots of decent profiles out there for this printer but they can really eat up the ink. I have created all custom profiles and my ink usage is less than half of what the canned profiles were. I check my colors on important jobs and they are very consistent. With the right settings you can whip out a 4' x 14' banner in less than 15 min. Couple little things you will want to change on the take up reel after you get it up and going but I can help you with that later.
  6. geez, I remember when we upgraded to 6.5 back in 2002 i think. I really do not even remember when my first interaction was with it. But between that and AI (which I started with in the early to mid 90's) I have watched the software develop greatly and change very drastically. Over the holiday weekend I actually busted out some of my now collectible 5.5 floppy discs and loaded up old files and could not stop thinking that the things I created in 1995 that took a week or better were now able to be completed within a hour.

    Vinyl to Concrete?

Can actually apply right to any concrete, block, stucco or brick. Surface does not have to be smooth at all. It is all in the installation and using the correct material and tools. Concrete floors easy peasy. But they are all going to be short term depending on traffic. Just be damn sure to use a skid resistant approved laminate to not only protect people walking over it but also your business. Lawyer fees when getting sued get pricey in a hurry.

    Alternative screenprinting

I have done some pretty detailed screens using vinyl. I do put it on the shirt side, I know some say ink side but I am always a little bit different. And yes we have all been in the binds where you looking for things at the local hardware store that you will have to rig up to make it all work. I hate them days.

    Alternative screenprinting

Acetone will remove all the adhesive from the HPV either way. So unless the heat loosens the stretch of the mesh you will be good to go and not completely trash the screen

    Alternative screenprinting

use vinyl, wash it out, replace vinyl and tada, new color. Or try it anyway. But I would hate to ruin a screen just to save a bit of time by using HPV

    Alternative screenprinting

the problem will be with the interaction of the inks and the HPV material, If you are using plastisol the cleaners to break them down when you clean the ink will also break down the HPV

    plastisol Transers

Not I. I tried a few years ago and was not comfortable with them. I know a bit more now and was thinking and trying again after the new year when I have my remodeling done.
