  1. Thanks dakota, In case anyone else runs into this, it was a Windows 8 issue, of course.   That being said, This is the response I got from USCutter...

In reply to your inquiry "Zencut Black/Signcut pro issue.":

I'm sorry for the repeated issues trying to get this cutter running. We definitely can help. Most of our support team doesn't have much experience with the ZenCut machines, so may not realize they were only distributed with SignCut. For the most part we have cut ties with SignCut. While we do still sell the software, we no longer distribute it with our cutters. We definitely can help with this issue though. Mostly these issues are handled by our tier 3 support team, but I can also help. Please have your friend give us a call again and ask for tier 3 support or me directly. Make sure they mention the cutter they are using and that I said we could support the issue.

    Regards,

    Thanks Robert.

  2. Ok.. So I sold my Zencut Black 52" and signcut pro lifetime dongle to a friend who is taking over my business. They set it up on their laptop, and it doesn't work. I looked it over, and everything looks set up correctly. They called USCutter customer service, and they first guy told her my LIFETIME dongle expired, and talked her into paying $100 to renew it.. Then when that still didn't work, they made her call back  later to talk to someone else, and that person told her USCUTTER no longer supports Signcut pro.. WTF? UScutter still SELLS signcut pro. It's always been compatable with zencut black. They recommended she buy cutsalot or whatever it's called.. What happened to UScutter customer support? The last time i needed them, granted it was 3 years ago, they were great, so helpful. Anyway, any recommendations? I guess I'll tell her to try Signcut customer service. this is ridiculous.

  3. Now, I don't get THAT. How does getting a job out fast cheapen the product? There is no logic there.

Think of as fast food vs. a sit down restaurant.. You can get a burger instantly at Burger King for $2, but you'll wait and pay $10 at Ruby Tuesday's. It's preception of how hard you worked. If people don't think you worked hard or put in a lot of labor on a product, they don't think it's worth as much.

  4. i have a roll of sandblast resist.. Anyone still interested?  it's not the one linked above, the one i bought UScutter doesn't apparently sell anymore

The one i have lists as this in my history

    INTSANCT227-25 Anchor BlastLite

  5. So here's my problem.. I have internet access at home(obviously), but not at my shop..  I have 9 months left on my 1 year license, and it asked me to update my license last week, which has to be done online, which meant I had to take my shop's desktop computer home, log in to the internet, and then take it back, which is a pain in my *you know what*.  I figure the answer is no, but figured i'd ask you guys if there was any way for me to get around this.

  6. Need some help guys.. doing some work for an old friend of mine that's running for city counsel..  He hooked me up with his backers to do 500 yard signs and 500 stick fans..  Help me out with the price!  I'm posting what i pay for everything, so if you know of somewhere with a better price PLEASE TELL ME! I'd much appreciate it..

    Same design on both..

the design isn't bad, Dark blue with his name in white and a red bar on top and bottom of his name, then "city counsel Dist. 3" underneath..

Ok.. So what i'm looking at is the yard signs are 12x24... He wants both sides, and for the life of me, I can't find 12x24 blanks anywhere..  I know someone suggested finding a local place, i don't have any near me, apparently(i've looked). So at signoutfitters.com, a 2 sided 1 color sign would cost me $1.17 each, so $585, so probably $640 after shipping. so adding the red bars would be nothing, but we'll say 1.5 x 20 vinyl use on each one.

500 wire stakes are $275, $335 after shipping at signoutfitters.com

On the stick fans 1 color 1 side at .43 a peice, and so after shipping it'd be like $250...the stickers on it would be the same red bars, guessing .75 x 4 on the vinyl usage. That's at usimprints.com

I'm thinking like $800 on the stick fans, $1600 on the yard signs w/ stakes, but i have no idea if i'm high or low or what.. she's wanting them done pretty quick to.. So please help!

  7. I have the zencut black, with signcut productivity pro(what came with it).. I can't get them to link up correctly..  Signcut doesn't list the zen cut, only the refine mh and the laserpoint... Any ideas?  I submitted an inquiry with uscutter, but I kinda need this done Now.

  8. Forget the exact dollar amount, i'll have to look up my invoice, but i did get the 40" zencut black.. It was right around 200 i think..  No fedex, no ups, uscutter used some ridiculous freight shipper, central shipping inc or something like that..  They called the day before to set up an appointment, and i told the lady that her driver would not be able to make it down my driveway, and she said they'd call me to meet me..  Nope.. He came all the way down my maybe 1/4 mile narrow driveway with his 18 wheeler..  Took him a good hour to back it out of there...

  9. Alright I did some researching and see the cannon  uses dye ink no good.  I saw the other ink for the cannon it was REAL expensive like I saw two cartridges for 85.00 Wow that is expensive unless the are massive in size? :)

cartridges for my printer are $260 each.. lol..

  10. If so, put your email, If I put your email as a reference, you can they'll give you $20 credit, and if you put my email, they'll give me $20 credit..  They have pretty good prices.. I'll be ordering from them in the next day or so, so respond if you want to take advantage of this... My email is David@mustang.com, if you want to help me out!

  11. because chrome paint sucks..

The thing about chrome vinyl is it doesn't conform well..  Heat won't help. It doesn't stretch or mold. I just did a diagonal strip on a race car, and it was a _itch.  If it's just trim pieces, maybe it won't be too bad..  If there is much complexity to the piece You're gonna have a hell of a time..  on my stripes, I had to cut the vinyl a few times to fit around bends in the fender/roof etc...  Just be prepared.. It's not easy.. and buy good vinyl. In my first crack at chrome i bought some cheap stuff off ebay (never a good idea, i know), and it was 100 times worse.

  12. Alright.. I'm pretty new to this, so help me out.. I'm just starting, and landed a pretty great client who owns a cab company(10-12 cabs) and a tile laying company(1 box van, 2 regular work vans)..   I've known him for a very long time, so I know he won't screw me and I for sure don't want to screw him.. He's giving me 250 each for his cabs (i know for a fact the guy who did it before me charged him 225 per cab, so I'm kinda stuck there.)

I'm telling you this to show that he's a very trusted customer with guaranteed future work, because he's buying new cabs all the time.  He buys old police cars, and runs them about 50-80,000 extra miles(or until they break) then scraps them.

Problem is he wants to grow his tile laying business a little bit, and so he wants me to print him some of his prior work onto his box van.. Just a guess, but I'll assume he'll want two pictures on each side, maybe 5x5, and then I'll have to re-cut the letters already there (name, logo(state outline, easy) and phone number).  So first, comments on the cabs, 250 a good price per cab?  and what should I charge him for the box van, knowing that he's going to want his other 2 vans done(smaller pictures) in the near future.  And please take into account that he's a good friend.. Hell, i used to lay tile for him.

  13. Not sure what year mustang that is, but the indention on generation 4(1994-2004) changed slightly in 1999... so 1994-1998 are the same and 1999-2004 are the same for all the indentions-- "Mustang"(v6) "Mustang GT"(v8) and "cobra"..  Good stuff.. Decent money, too, if you sell them without having to worry about the copyright stuff...  they go for like 20-30 bucks online, for 7 letters.. lol.
