Its definately not as durable as our typical vinyl, but its surprising. has a woodgrain bill murray face for a customer (i don't know either... lol) that he put on the hood of his VW, and it lasted until a deer crushed it off. Pressure washing will definately peel it off clean tho.

I would recommend using paper back tape. Clear R Tape seems to have a little too much hold for it.

Here' some license plates I've done for samples and instructional aids in my classes. All using Oracal 651 or ContacPaper (woodgrain).
Posted a close up of the woodgrain ContacPaper (Shelf liner).
Haven't seen anyone here mention using it, but it actually cuts and weeds very well. Have to bring the cutting pressure way down as the backing is really thin, but once it sticks, it sticks well, and is available in marble, ivy, woodgrain, etc. and is found in the kitchen aisle of most stores with drawer liners.

mind sharing where you got them?

Thats so awesome. can't wait to try some blasting!

My VE Lynx has the groove on the front, I feed out to the edge of my weed border, and use it as a straight blade guide to cut off the vinyl, then back it up and reset the origin. I find the groove to be very handy, but looks like you've found a good solution for those that don't!

Parents bought a new ride that came with a Dealer Hitch plug. Popped off the logo and peeled the original logo off the back, the applied the UK in blue and white from behind. Wish I could find a source for these blank. Looks like just an acrylic front, as it was double sided taped to the hitch plug. It might be domed though, but if anyone has any insight, I'd love to know where to find blank ones!

Got my rolls today, thanks again! That was quick!

It was made from their original sign. They're most famous for their burgers and shakes, but they've had the original sign for years and years, and have moved it when they built a larger location, so they won't be moving from that. It's a drive-in type joint, and to be honest, they really don't need a sign as it stays packed from Mid-April to Labor Day Weekend. Here's the original burger stand, and the same sign as it stands today.

I have the VE Lynx (older model renamed for SW) and I've had it for 3 years. Actually picked it up as a refurb off their ebay auctions and saved a good bit of money. Haven't had any problems out of it or the software (knock on wood!).

Thanks, it's actually our print lab here at MSU. Have all sorts of fun printing equipment in there!

I meant no offense with my post, was simply explaining how easily this was done in illustrator.

Indeed. super easy in illusrator, make the outside circle, the inner most circle, then do a blend of specified steps (in this case 5) and expand. all there is to it.

Good rule of thumb for print is 300 dpi at the correct dimensions. 180dpi will typically print fine at correct dimensions as well. (example, if the photo is 4x6 on the folder, the image size should be 4in x 6in. @ 180 dpi).

Here's the eps saved as an older version of illustrator and with compound paths. Is there a way in SBE to change the view to outlines instead of fills? It shows up fine in Flexi for me.

This stuff is thinner than the 651 i used on the other plates, it is more brittle though.
