  1. It depends. What does Proverbs 3:13-14 mean to you?

    Wisdom would tell me not to print that copyrighted logo.

    We do however know that we can change something 30% and have the right to print it. Also, if we take a picture we have a right to print it right?

    This is how all those Characters have the right to wave on the side of the roadways. If you look they're not 100% copies.

    They're plenty of artist out there to make us our own super heros if we need them. Like, CAPTAIN St. Luis Tech!!!! or Super Tech to the rescue.

    You are right about the changing of something of a certain %....I was taught in the Art Institute it is the legal way to build off creativity. If we had it closed to even that then this world would revert to a caveman way of doing things. There is nothing wrong with taking a concept that someone else had and build on it to create something new. That is how creativity works and progresses. Copyrights were made up mostly by the greedy corporate companies that want to snuff out all competition to their business. Look at how bands will come out and sound like other bands in the past. We are ALL influenced by someone else in this world. So I say buy that CD if you want, just make sure you change each of those images in some way to make your own and go for it. So instead of buying it when you have to put the work into it then go to some of these forums and download those same images like I did when looking for some ideas. If I am having to change it and do the work, then I am not going to buy the stuff. If I buy it then I will be using it as is or it is a waste of my money. :thumbsup:


  2. I have gotten a few images from you folks so here is something I have done for others in turn.....You may have to clean it up some which I am still in that process myself, but for the most part it is almost finished. I actually designed this around 3:30am on 04/04/11

Nice job, but the bad experience I had with horses and one about killing me when it knocked me down and started hoofing at me as I was rolling away from it till the dog bit it's hind leg makes me want to punch one in the forehead rather than look at it!!! <_< Great job on the blasting...looks clean :thumbsup:


  4. I might of figured it out actually!!! My friend that lives in Australia that sent me a gift card to buy the cutter on my birthday told me to send her the image I am cutting and she will see if I have any extra crap on the image. Well she did and sent me a screen shot of it and sure enough there were extra letters in the MUTT area....So I went in on Illustrator and cleaned them off. When I get more black vinyl I will try it out again and see if that takes care of it....or do the pen thing so I don't waste the vinyl so much.

    I also took my ground wire off and sanded the paint off the frame to see if that helps out.

    Lose the Diamond Plate. How about a smaller oval around just Graphics and slide "Randy's" over to the left just a bit more just overlapping the oval slightly.

    This is just a quickie to explain what I was thinking.

  7. these are the 2 logo i have come up with. would like input on what more to do or add or take away or if anyone got a better logo ideal all help would be glade helpful

    Yea the diamond plate look and the thin lines of the text makes it hard to read. The one with the star is better but use a bolder and cleaner font so people don't lose interest trying to figure out what it says. Trust me I spelled graphics in my name as GrapFX....I hear so many people say GRAPE FX...lol I want to pull my hair out and strangle them for not reading it right. hahahahah So I am going to make a change in it when I get it all going and change my URL that I have already bought. You don't want to take away from the name of your company by no means. First thing they taught in design classes was make things legible. A great design only works if you can read the text that goes with it. I will get my logo up and going when I get the right colors for it and the clear transfer tape so I can layer it.

Well besides the fact my 721 is acting funny if I take that image I came up with and cut and paste it to have like 3 across and 3 down, the cutter will cut a diagonal line from starting corner to opposite top corner then start cutting the images...which sucks since that wastes vinyl and trying to correct it and figure out why it is doing it used up all my black vinyl, but I will have more fun when I can make money off it instead of just spending money on it. lol

    Now I have to buy more vinyl...QUESTION THOUGH....I am having picks in the vinyl in the small detailed corners of letters and shapes....HOW DO I KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING DURING THE WEEDING PROCESS?!?!?!? :D Can be very frustrating and I guess that is what I get trying to do the hardest of graphics from the start. I have also found not to listen to the people at US Cutter when asking them if the regular transfer works well for layering...they said YEA SURE!!! I found BULL SHIP!!!! lol If it isn't clear you can't see through to the next layer...so I wasted my money on that unless I am doing one color cuts. So I have to invest in the clear as well.

    As for the design software, I use my 17in Macbook Pro with Illustrator. I got that when I was at the Art Institute taking classes. I will add more of my work when I get more vinyl and can actually get this multicolor stuff down.

    Tips are greatly appreciated!!! Well off to bed now since I have my forth month of Jury Duty in the morning!! :(


  9. Here is the graphic I made on my Mac in Illustrator. I can cut one out like this and it works fine, but that is a waste of vinyl. So I put this image in SignBlazer and copied and pasted it to cut 16 at a time on one sheet....4 across and 4 down. when it started to do it's thing....it made a diagonal cut from bottom left corner to top right corner THEN started making the cuts for the image here. so it had a slice from corner to corner of 4 of them. So I thought maybe it can't handle that many so I dropped it down to 3 across and 3 down making a total of 9 at one time. Again the same thing happened, from corner to corner of 3 of them was a line cut diagonally. So I just did 3 at a time and it did fine, but why will it not stop cutting that diagonal line from corner to corner when I do multiple across the length of the vinyl?!?!?

    Example of the position of the stickers below... the cut would go from bottom left to top right....

  13. No. If it works, it works. The Keyspan only can fix unreliable communications between the computer and cutter when trying to use the USB port on the cutter. If you are having no problems with the cutter doing weird things while you're using the USB port on the cutter, don't do anything. If, in the future, you start having weird glitches with the cutter, then it might be time to buy a Keyspan and use the serial port on the cutter to see if it resolves the issues.

  14. Thats what I did but when I go to cut it, it says file still a bitmap and everything but bitmaps will be cut.

    Yea sorry once you convert it then right click on the top image I think and then delete that one....you are then left with the vector!! Sorry for the omission of that little detail...I was just recalling from memory at the time and am still new at it myself. :unsure:

    It has been a while since I have been on here(too long). Since I have been gone I changed jobs, had my first child, and am now getting ready to move. I have been very busy and things have been hectic to say the least. Just wanted to post a picture of the graphics I did above my sons bed. Let me know what you think.

  16. Hey everyone, I am very new to this. Have tried the search and need some help. How to I convert bitmap images so I can cut them using signblazer. I am cutting with a USCutter 36" laserpoint. I have the images loaded but they are in bitmap. This will be the first time ever using a cutter so dont beat me up to bad!! LOL Thanks in advance for the help

    If it is like what I had to do to make an image into a vector. You have to select the image, go to Image, Mode, Monochrome. Then select it again and go to Image, Vectorize. That is what I had learned to do with it.
