Just spoke to: Amy Westermann MACtac Inside Sales 866-622-8223 www.mactac.com and she said that the pigment ink in the 1100 should work fine on their JT1958P material, it comes in 36" and 50" rolls at 72' a roll. Fellers and Laird Plastics are the distributors for them. Here is a PDF on that item: http://mactac.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Graphic/Performance_Guides/JT1958P.pdf

How to come up with price?
pyrophire replied to SMD's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
My local market charges 15/sqft and I think that is over priced for alot of the jobs What I did is figure out my cost of materials per square foot, figure out a good markup and then base all the jobs off of square footage. If a design is small and you can fit 2 of them into the sqft, charge 1/2 the sqft + a buck or two bonus for the work required to make sure you dont under price yourself. I've done "per sheet" pricing on my printed stickers for the past 3 years and have not changed my prices or thought i was undercharging for the work I put into it. I've actually had ALOT of return business because they love my low prices and quick turn around time. Now that im looking to expand to different fields, I look to see what the cost for materials is and how much I can charge w/o being too high and then I see if its worth investing in new equip. -

Oh I did think of something that could be added on there, something sorta how it is on this link where wedding can be ranked from 1-10 depending on the complexity of the design. http://www.thesignexpert.com/TheSignExpert.com/Sign_Business_Free_RTA_Vinyl_Price_Calculator.html -
Signwarehouse has a nice selection of aqueous printable vinyl media but I'm wondering if anyone has used any of them with the 1100 without needing a uv curing system. I am seriously considering switching over my sticker business from laser/litho adhesive paper to inket/vinyl if its possible without having to order a 12,000 dollar vinyl printer.

Had someone want their 3rd brake light "masked" on their 02 mustang, to have it say MUSTANG. Also ended up doing the indented letters on the bumper, heres a couple of pics.

I started with the Refine MH-721 because it was cheaper than the PCUT though ebay and it has paid for itself for in about a month. I use illustrator cs4 with signcut pluggin, makes things easier since I've known the software for years and years

Any Heavy USPS shippers here? Label printer question.
pyrophire replied to europeancardriver's topic in Off Topic Section
I do all my shipping through paypal, the secret though is ordering the half page lablels from DHL, they send them to you for free.... so free labels, online printing, at door pickup. -
the magnet material is fairly soft since it has to contour and if you can cut it with a razor blade you should be able to cut it with this punch thing, i dont have any magnetic material to test it on though...

What exactly is frog juice, never heard or seen it before. I would think it would be some type of sealer

The thing with papillio is that they have limited sizes of their vinyl material, 11x8.38. The two materials I listed come in 36" widths and 72/65 feet long, so they could be cut into 12x36 inch strips and fed through the 1100 with the custom size selection, being able to do longer images.

The jaws on mine take about 3/8" tall material on both sides (1/2 1/4 corner cut)

What about the SIHL 3988 ADHESIVE VINYL, my local supplier carries it and im wondering if it works with the 1100 also, I saw that MACtac carries JA1340 - IMAGIN JT1958P MATTE WHITE VINYL 36"X72' Do these both require UV curing or will the water based ink dry on its own?
-
nah i think it would work, the packaging says it will cut mattboard with ease

Whats up dog? Nothing bro, whats up with you?

Vinyl Pricer

Only thing I changed on my own was Length to Height since width is already there and on my end width and length tend to be the same. I dont think the weeding box should matter, we can just add that to the original design sizes. -
Since they supplied the actual photo's of the boom truck and only had one view, if I changed it around the wrighting in the pic on the door of the truck would have been backwards. I used Oracal 3551 and Oraguard 200 laminate. could have easily been turned around in photoshop, just flip the image, select the text and flip the writing, if any of the color from the door wasnt aligned you could just use the patch brush.

Great job, i love the way the totals are broken down and the option to offer a discount. I'm defiantly going to use this for any future jobs -
In photoshop just gausianblur/pixelate and it hides license plates. in tx some of the mods these guys do are illegal and posting them online just makes it easier for the cops to catch them once they have their plate numbers. also heres the mustang eps, re-created it for whoever wants it. Mustang.eps Mustang.eps

The inserts have this odd bevel on the outside of them which makes it look odd, but the letters fit alright. I didnt save the file, just measured each letter and adjusted each one, the height was 1.75 inches.
