Hey,
thanks for everybody's opinion and input.. Siser Easyweed arrived and works fine.. I cut it with 300 Speed and 25g pressure ( SC cutter) .. thats something a wanted to sake people anyway ..
What kind of pressure and speed settings do you use ( I know it depends on the cutter and also how far the blade sticks out) , but that would be interesting to know!!??
-
I actually just tried it out with 300 F and 10 Sec. ( own muscle pressure.. since this heat press doesn't have a lock position in the press mode..
Worked pretty well with the Siser Easyweed Vinyl

Yeah well the people couldn't get it done so far or al least didn't write about it..
Hopefully this post will be a new encouragement for some people to get back on the subject, since most Vinyl Cutters are so big, that in most cases you have to put them in a place where you not necessarily have your computer and .. we all hate visible cables.. don't we..

I'm getting ready to start using the Economy 9" x 12" Swing-arm Heat Press - 110v from US Cutters . Unfortunately I don't have the directions to the heat press anymore, or they didn't even come with the machine...
Does somebody have a Tutorial online or can somebody give quick advise how to use the press .. temperature / timer and pressure ?

Hi,
hst somebody hooked up a SC or other Cutter to an Airport Express in order to cut wireless like with a regular USB Printer
which can just be plugged up in the USB hub of the Apple Airport Express and then accept the print job via wifi . ( When the Mac is on the wifi - network of the airport express?
I can cut without problem with the USB cable plugged in my Mac ( the SC cutter will not show up in the printer list in the System Preferences / Printers and Scanners , but will still cut without problems.
Now when I try the same with the usb cable plugged up in the Airport Express, it will tell me that the SC Cutter is not connected.

Yes, obviously they nave changed it. That was probably the reason why the vinyl bunched up the first time I wanted to cut. Of cause you have no idea why this happens when you first try out the machine.. ( Because you will automatically push
the roller to far out )

Ok,
I trust my USCutter Forum Fellows .. just order some Siser Vinyl .. let you guys know how it works ..

I wanted to order the Siser Vinyl but review about the Vinyl not being that good for detailed graphics kept me from ordering it so far.

This Quest in must have been asked here a lot of times.. but I still can't find it with the search option.
Maybe somebody hast a suitable link for me..
or a suggestion .
I'm looking for good inexpensive simple glossy or matt heat transfer vinyl in simple colors like white , grey and black.

@slice&dice ... thank you for the logo suggestion..
I really like my logo , since it more than a statement then an actual logo. Thats why I was looking for a way to simplify the cut for my cutter.. and I think I found it.
I just deleted some of the extra "cutting points" in Scalp which didn't change the shape of the palm trees too much so the cutting is simpler, but the shape remains for the most part.
I really hope these shapes don't effect the cutter like you guys say..

Ok, so I will get me one of those adapters as soon as I get more on the big cut jobs..
So to get this right this is to keep multiply or big cut jobs in the memory ?

Hi I'm pretty new to the cutting game.. just got my SC cutter set up and ready to work after a couple of successful test cuts.I have noticed how fast, loud and the machine is working. Since I want to cut my logo for stickers and shirts in a higher amount I'm afraid I are out toe machine with the detailed palm tree leafs I have in my logo. What do you guys think !?I'm looking to change my logo with simpler palm tee leafs ... not everybody who has been in California knows the distinctive look of the high palm trees with the small crown and the short leafs .. so much different, then palm trees in the care bean or Miami .I want to preserve this look .. just don't know who .I'm great full for any advise . -
@slice&dice
I'm not to sure which screw you are referring to because I can't see a screw, unless your are talking about the pinch roller being able to side alot further that the bottom metal roll .. see picture:

other then that , the pinch roller sitz perfectly on top on the metal roll !? :

@dawn's designes LLC I'm assuming when I try to cut a big file or a lot of files this it will be important !? Because you said the SC Cutter has a short memory ..
Does it have to be the 50 buck one form US cutter : http://www.uscutter.com/Keyspan-USB-Serial-Adapter
or could it be a regular one ?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belkin-USB-Serial-Portable-Cable-Adapter-Type-A-Male-USB-DB-9-Male-Serial-B-/301237663157?pt=US_USB_Cables_Hubs_Adapters&hash=item462329f5b5

@djque I'm working on a new logo ( a simpler one) to preserver the life spane of my machine when it come to cutting those palm tree leafs ..
as soon as thats done I'll try the Week Box..
Check out these Call Of Duty - Test cuts .. please note : I mad the image more than 50% smaller !
.. ans still a nice precise cut !?
Please also click the Video to see how easy the access vinyl .. just pops out when I hit it with the knife. ( Sorry had the iphone right next to the speaker.. was listening to the radio)
@all thanks for all the advice and tips !

@dawn's designes LLC what do you mean by Key Span ? Are you taking about the Adapter from Serial to USB ?

@slice&dice thanks ... I found the problem with the misunderstanding, but thanks for dip laying the other problem since this seams to be a general problem, and I might run into it and other people probably already have..
Since you know a lot about the actual parts and their function .. you might know also why the grid roller leaved such a deep imprint on my vinyl !?
-
@signyouup thanks that worked find..
@slice&dice do you think I will have problems with Sculp or is the other software much better? That position for the Vinyl worked fine for me thanks !
@djque thanks that worked..
@Dawn's Designes LLC .. I guess I'll stick with the simple options for know until I have figured everything out..
I'm amazed how detailed the SC Cutter cuts. Please take a look at my pictures attached ..
Now I will just have to find out how to set a cutting line around my logo, so I can actually remove the "negative part " from around my logo..
.. I'm assuming you call it excess vinyl !?.. and put it on application tape.
I'm a little bit concerned about how much the machine has to move/work to cut out my logo so detailed, since this will be the shape I will cut the most. That can't be good for the machine . I'm thinking about changing the leafs of the palm tree to a simpler shape to not mess up the cutter over time.
It feel's like the depth of the blade is adjusted right , because it really only cuts the top layer but some parts are a little difficult to pic out , I guess I can cut a little deeper by adjusting the pressure/weight right !?
Speaking of pressure did you guys notice the imprint of the metal underneath the rollers ? Is that normal or is that low quality vinyl ?

Ok thanks ,
but where do I position the Vinyl in the Cutter ( which inch - marks , in combination with the mat of the software and its inch marks) ?

Hi,
I'm a new member seeking some advice . I'm trying to make my first cuts. When I'm tried to do some test cuts , the cutter would start cutting (from Sure Cuts A Lot 3 Pro) right in the middle of the 2 ft. wide vinyl and about 1 ft. far deep into the vinyl. Where do I have to position the Vinyl and the start position of the blade to start cutting and with which setting.
I have watched several tutorials, but non discuss the starting positions and starting settings.
Would greatly appreciate any advice .. thanks in advance.
-
ok thanks @slice&dice I found the problem.. The wheel was off the track . Now I'm trying to find out where to put my Vinyl on the cutter or where to position the Blade with which settings so I can finally start cutting out some test shapes .
.. but maybe I'm in the wrong segment of the Forum.
-
Wow @dakotagrafx that exactly what it was.. good Eye ... just got it back on track literally .. Thanks !

Hi,
it has been a year since I have been on here. The last time I was on here in the same Introduction segment , I have asked members what would be the best cutter to buy. After a lot of helpful tips, I have bought an
US Cutter SC Series . Since I have successfully set it up ( haven't really been able to figure out the length of the blade yet.. maybe I can adjust that with the cutting weight on the SC Cutter !?) and installed the software and driver ( took me a while because the new MacBooks don't have a CD Slot anymore so I had to search for the right software and driver ) I finally tried to cut a simple shapes out of my " Sticker " Vinyl .
The first Question I have is: The Box which holds the blade holder is not all horizontal so the blade holder is also a little bit tiled , is that normal or is that also a part of the set up to adjust the blade holder , because I see some screws there. ( you can see it in the attached picture)
But my main issue is that I don't know where to position the Vinyl or where to set the object on the "mad" in the " Sure Cuts A Lot 3 Pro " software, or where to position the Blade holder . My couple of test cuts will start right in middle of the 2ft wide Vinyl about 1 ft deep into the Vinyl even though I placed the object on the left top corner of the mad ( on the mad of the Software)
Same problem with Cut Mode : WYSIWYG or Origin Point.
Sorry for no using all the right terms but I will get used to the right names of the components materials soon ...
Thanks in advance for any helpful tips.

Hi, I'm posting my problem here because I don't now if this is a problem of a to fine Graphic ( which I don't think because I cut fine details before ) , or the actually cutter .. maybe not enough pressure .. ( the blade is fairly new / about 15 design cuts ( not sure how long these blades last, or a problem with the Vinyl since this
its pretty hot today ( maybe the backing doesn't stick to good today at higher temperatures but then again there is not direct sun influence on the vinyl ).
Please view the pictures :

I have a lot of problems weeding out my letters ... about 20% come of the backing material.
I just don't have a lot of experience yet.. these are still some of my first cuts, I have cut out a similar Graphic with my SC Cutter with the settings 300 Speed 27g pressure ( using the red blade which came with the cutter)
Looking forward to some helpful infos...
