    Is the newspaper dead?

I'd rather think of them as evolving. Our local paper in a community of less than 80,000 has made many changes as have others recently in an attempt to reduce operating costs. In my entrenched opinion, few of the changes have benefited me as a subscriber. My hope is they will not find a way to delete the Sunday edition with all those shiny ad inserts, as I like shiny...where was I?
  2. Huh....that's a Piper PA 140 series more commonly known as a Cherokee. Don't have it, but I do have a J3 that you can add to your collection if desired. J3.eps J3.eps
  3. I'm not familar with Velum. That said, perhaps the AccuBlade Holder for this cutter might offer the solution you are looking for; unless you believe the machine to just not be capable of the pressures needed.
  4. Doesn't this cut either direct from a memory card or or from your computer? The memory card route is foreign to me, but if I read correctly my understanding is this also cuts from a computer using CuttingMaster. The attached screen shot displays the screen using CuttingMaster II showing the ROBO Controller offering cutting speed adjustment from 1-10 and cutting pressure (thickness) from 1-33.
  5. An acquaintance rolled his sailboat and to commemorate the event I intend to make a vinyl outline for a shirt showing the transom with the boat name inverted. To this point I am unable to find a transom view of something with either a sail or keel board. Anyone got one? Thank U

If you go the route of pens, consider a better quality of pen, unless you intend to spread them all over town by the bizillions. Junk pens often don't make it beyond my trash can.

How do I use X4 & cutting master

Did you go back into your program files in search of any SignCut driver files that may have still been lingering? Perhaps you have another suitable computer available that has not been 'corrupted' with any other cutting software that would enable you to attempt the Corel X4 / CuttingMaster II liason?

How do I use X4 & cutting master

I missed the post where it was determined what version of Corel he has. If that is based soley on what he paid, I cut from my $90 (2 years ago) version of X3 in Cutting Master 2 and as he asked above; why would the rocket show a launch for the cutting software if it's not a feature? Again with my Dells, to avoid issues with SignBlazer, SignCut, or Cutting Master 2, I found it necessary to remove all components of all other cutting programs from the computer to avoid glitches.

How do I use X4 & cutting master

He takes in his first post, he doesn't even have SignCut, I see that, however I suspect he had to have loaded something related to SignCut at some time for Corel to mistakenly recognize it's presence, if that's what he is truely seeing. If that's true...I suspect there could be files related to SignCut still present. How else would Corel believe he has SignCut, unless it's not SignCut he's seeing when launching?

How do I use X4 & cutting master

Ahhh.... I wonder if you removed SignCut from this computer, if this problem would continue to occur. I have had issues in the past running multiple cutting programs on one of my Dells.

How do I use X4 & cutting master

Using Corel X3 and Cutting Master 2, I am able to launch either registration mark placement or cutting from the 'ROCKET'. I suppose it's possible this feature is no longer available on the newer version(s) you have, however I'd be inclined to think it's more of a driver issue if you are not able to use this simple approach.
  12. I've found Thermoflex and EasyWeed both to perform better on my 'cheap' chineeze heat press without teflon. If you feel you must use a barrier, try parchment paper as an alternative. By all means let the press amply preheat to operating temps to equalize temps across the platen.

    economy printer for heat transfer

I have purchased both refurbished C88+ and C120 from the Epson site in the past. To my eye the 120 is superior in print quality. The C88+ uses 4 of the TO600 series cartridge, while the C120 uses 5 of the 68/69 series cartridge. I do not perform a lot of ink transfers and as a result..in spite of attempts to not; end up with clogged print head issues. I'm ashamed to admit I've come to think of these refurbs as throw away printers and have done just that to two of C88+(s) in the last year. I'm down to my last one and will probably look at the Kodak low cost cartridge pigmented ink printer if/when the need arises.
  14. I was recently given sheets of this; the result of a business closure and haven't quite figured the product out. From what I understand some of this product line will accept piezo printing (thermo) or not? These sheets came in 18" X 24" and with the 3M labeling on the understand of the backer, it is necessary to tape a line for the cutter's optical measuring eye. The adhesion seems good...but at the same time, I had no difficulty reapplying the same sample several times unlike my experience with Avery. Just wondering out loud if anyone has experience with this and what use you have had for it?

    laser engraver vs. cnc router

I'd like to see a pic of the truck they use to do that with. If the intended use is on flat surfaced wood, have you looked at a CarveWright?
  16. I had a similar feature on ArcSoft PhotoImpression Suite 3? A subsequent version dropped this feature. My Sprint cell phone online account also had this editing feature, although not to as high a degree.
  17. This one was pretty greazzzzy and I could tell right away there would be adhesion issues, if you know what I mean. Besides why would someone wanna cover up all those tatoos?
  18. If the seller is licensed to sell these products, one would think he would be boldly touting that fact to set him apart from the many others that aren't. If the seller is licensed to sell these products, one would think he would be selling variations to recoup his licensing costs. Only the seller and the owners of the designs really know, I'd say it's unlikely he holds license to any of the commercial designs he is selling. Thing is the longer one sells an item without license, the more secure they may feel about getting away with it. If someone at some time should feel a desire to recover losses to their design, damages could be based on sales numbers, do you think this seller is tucking away money to protect in that event?

  20. I hear what you are saying. If one could find a lightweight panel like corroplast the width of a hinged garage door, they could lay a design out on the panels (to overcome the heavy embossing in door face) and then apply the panels to the door with adhesion. If one had the ambition it could present well. I'll be the first to admit that someone isn't me.
  21. I had a woman approach me to cut pasties for her leaving a hole in the middle. Telling her the product wasn't really suitable for that use sent her out the door.

corel EPS to sign cut or sign blazer

kman if you'd care to upload one of the simpler (for file size) designs causing issues for you, I'll import it into my Corel and launch to SignCut to see if we can isolate the cause, if you think that may help.
  23. I saw something a while back showing an automotive painter appling actual droplets of water to a project prior to painting with the color he intended the droplets to be. This was in a paint booth, so I'm sure he had heat available to speed the evaporation of the water leaving his paint colored droplets.

    Who uses JPSS for shirts?

If you're new to pigmented ink you may want to delve more into it's compatibility with a HP all in one home printer. The Epson 800 and 1200 series printer WERE the most common pigmented printers. Kodak's printer line is supposed to be pigmented. Maybe a HP will easily transition to pigmented refill and I've just missed that....there is however a difference in viscosity between dye based and true non water bleeding pigmented. If you try dye based on the JPSS, once you set the project with heat, spill water on it and wipe with a paper towel, I'd be curious to know if you experience bleeding. I tried a small batch of JPSS about a year ago, I didn't think it cut as cleanly for me as IronAll.

corel EPS to sign cut or sign blazer

In addition to converting your objects to curves as stated above, have you actually been exporting them into Signcut or is that your way of stating you launch (by clicking the rocket icon in the top toolbar) the project from Corel over to Signcut?
