Copam CP-2500 works with Vista and SignCut X2! USB to Serial Adaptor!

No what I meant was that if you can get the driver for the USB cable to install under 64bit then try the rest of the settings above and see if it will work. It seems to me that if the driver for the cable works then the rest of the settings should. There is no way to drop a 64bit install down to 32bit. -

32 bit... I see know reason for someone to run 64 bit unless you are rendering/animation or dealing with large number crunching... I have seen to many issues with compatibility on 64 bit... you might try my settings though... -
Ok... got it finally! I have the older Copam with the serial to USB connection. I went out to Radio Shack and bought the USB to Serial cable (I think they only carry one brand) $35. I made sure it had Vista compatibility on the box. Installed the cable and the driver. Updated my signcut to the newest release. Now the important stuff... after installing the driver go to: device manager find the new adaptor under Ports (COM & LPT) there should be your new adaptor listed under this category... in this case mine is called the RadioShack USB to Serial cable right click on it and go to properties.... Under "port settings" change flow control to "hardware" Click advanced and uncheck the "Use FIFO buffers" box Click "ok" and close out of the windows (make note of the comm port that it installed on before closing) Open Sign cut and go to cutter handshake should be set to hardware (rts/CTS) I check rts, cts, and dtr boxes under the device drop down pick the comm port that the usb cable was installed on. leave everything else as default. advanced tab unchecked swap axis and optimize data transfer thats is... i did notice one time I closed x2 that I had to pick the comm port again before i cut... works like a charm...

bummer... I was really hoping this would work. Especially since I dropped $35 on a new cable... I will mess around with it some more before I give up. It is obviously a communcation issue to the cutter. I also need to get it working so that my signcut software will continue to work as the laptop has the internet and authorized the license...

I just got a Vista Laptop and I am unable to get Signcut X2 (newest version downloaded) to cut anything through the USB to serial coverter. I had the old converter that didnt work with vista so I went to Radio Shack and purchased one that was vista compatible ($35) loaded the drivers it, and setup the right port in signcut, etc. I use illustrator and send to signcut and when I go to cut all it does is cut a straight line about 8 in. long and stops... any thoughts? This cutter worked fine through my old dead pc with the other connection....

copam 2500 measuring material incorrectly.
iceman replied to espy's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
It took me awhile to figure this out but all I do is load the 15" vinyl toward the left so that you can catch 2 of the bottow rollers... then set the 2 upper (pinch rollers) to the very edge of the vinyl. I center the pinch rollers half on and half off the edge of the viny. Then hit the measure button. If you notice the round metal dots on the pinch rollers, this is what is actually measures. After it measures then I cheat and move the pinch roller each back over a bottom feed roller... just be careful that the vinyl stays square... works perfect and you get the full width of the viynl.... -
Dang Wahoo... this is the last place I expected to find you I am buying one of the copam cutters... hopefully it will ship this week... Hopefully you wont cut into my RC business see you at the track...
