anybody do military discounts?
DebraM replied to CherokeeDesign's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
We offer discounts to military, police, fire, and ems. Typically 10% and/or $25 artwork/setup fee waived. -
Tempted hit the nail on the head. It seems that people don't want to take the time to learn a program, but yet, they get impatient when someone doesn't help them within an hour or two. And then if they do get a graphic vectorized for them, a "thanks for your time" is hardly ever posted. No, it's not hard to learn. All it takes is a little time to apply yourself, and you will learn.

How Many People Here Make Signs Full Time? Storefront? Work From Home?
DebraM replied to bayshorecreations's topic in General discussion
My husband and I both work fulltime, and do this in our spare time(DBA). Our hopes are to slowly build a nice customer base, so when it's time to retire, we can slide into the decal business fulltime. -

If the fonts are saved as fonts, and not as paths, you should be okay. Just highlight the text, and then use the kerning tool to stretch the letter spacing out.

It's very hard to read the phone number and email address. The phone number should be almost as big as the company name. Keep in mind, you only have a brief moment to catch a customer's attention, if they can't easily see or read what you are trying to sell them on, that's one less customer.

Oracal 851 or 951 is a cast vinyl with a high gloss and great outdoor life span, according to their website.

New to vinyl cutting so bare with me. Have lots to learn, and lots to read.
