Did you ground your cutter properly? -
URGENT HELP NEEDED!! MH721 KEEPS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CUT
hockeygirl replied to nav255's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Also, before the large cuts, turn your cutter off and back on to clear out any memory. And try speeding up the cutter so not as much need to be stored in memory. -
Welcome from CA! Also check to make sure the baud rate on the cutter and software matches.

URGENT HELP NEEDED!! MH721 KEEPS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CUT
hockeygirl replied to nav255's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Also, if you're on a desktop, make sure you're using the USB ports in the rear, not the front. The front ports do not supply enough power for the cutter. -
What else do I need to get started?
hockeygirl replied to thebuttontaylor's topic in Pre-sale questions
it is ok to use for small decals, but would be a real pain for large decals and to try and roll that is crazy. tunnels galore, paper works great for long 4-12ft decals and rolls really nice. Agreed. I use paper for anything larger than 12"x12". Besides, paper works a lot better for wet application. -
Are you using the Epson Durabrite ink? If so, you need to adjust the CMY on the printer. -15 for yellow, +5 for cyan and magenta.

Hey Dummy!......What were you thinking?
hockeygirl replied to prestonservco's topic in General discussion
Last night, I was cutting a bunch of 24"x12" back window graphics for a client. Had it all weeded and taped. Lined it up wrong on the trimmer, and ended up cutting bottom half inch of the graphics on 5 of them before I realize what I was doing... *insert curse words here* and recut 5 new stickers. -
What software are you using? Why would you call USC for a sw problem?

The red holder is for 1.5mm blade and the blue for 0.9mm blade. -
Graphtec Setup- Now questions!
hockeygirl replied to Jeffrey06's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Make sure you place your rollers just inside the edge of your vinyl. The cuttable area is between the 2 rollers. -
What are you using as your cutting software? If you have your colors set up correctly, then you can just select which color to cut in your cutting sw along with a registration mark. Or, if you want to do it manually, then you can create a registration diamond and make different files for each other, all with the same registration mark...

How to Heat Press Gray with JPSS
hockeygirl replied to prestonservco's topic in Clamshell Heat Press Discussion or Support
What printer are you using? Since your design doesn't have colors, are you setting your printer to print grey scale only? You should, otherwise, it's not using the black ink cartridge. I know with the Epson durabrite ink, the yellow tends to turn green when heated, you can also try setting -15 on yellow, +5 magenta, and +5 blue. That usually fixes it. -
Also, just wanted to point out that you usually only hear from those with problems (whether it's a real issue or operator error). Those who are happy customers don't typically complain.

Has anyone ordered from Memphis yet?
hockeygirl replied to BannerJohn's topic in Criticism and Complaints about USCutter
John, let us know how good the banner is. I could use a couple 3' and 4' rolls and looks like a good price for them. -
The only time I've had minor problems (vinyl wrinkling) is when the shirt isn't pre-shrunk and it was thrown in the dryer. Other than that, no issues with Siser EasyWeed

Depending on the computer it could be a mobo power delivery issue. Been seeing a lot of that lately on smaller form factor computers. In that case, you'll need to install a dedicated PCI-E usb card or use a good powered external usb hub.

Is your cutter grounded? Static could've built up by 2nd cut -
Design Fees? When to ask for money up front?
hockeygirl replied to danthedesignman's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I charge a flat $50 up front for design. If they decide not to purchase, I keep the $50, otherwise, the $50 applies to the total cost (design + product). -
I DID IT!!!!!!!I have a Graphtec CE5000-60 on the way
hockeygirl replied to odokie's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
I'm not sure what the factory setting for cut length is, but since I bought mine used/refurb, mine had it set to 2000mm, and it took me a while to figure that out, because the error message would disappear before I figured out it stopped before completing my 10ft cut. But that was more user error for me, caused me a small heap of frustration, but in the end, it all worked out. -
Your printer should already come stock with the Durabrite ink. For refills, you can use inkjetcart or cobra refillable cartridges.
