  1. The best I have found with the local flea markets is I know a guy who goes every saturday so I give him a commission and send him with a handful of different things and every time he comes back he has a full order form for me for the next week. I have recently been sending him with a catalog so the orders are getting larger. I average about $80 a Saturday when he goes not to bad for me just sending him out selling for me basically. (For those that ask I give him 15% and my average in my pocket is still $80)

  2. The family of the guy who passed auctioned the stuff off and offered me the rights to everything tied with the business name. My tax lady is going to look into that next week for me and see if there is any outstanding debt. There are misc. files on the hard drive of scanned contracts from a few of the companies showing they gave this guy the permission to duplicate their logo. But I guess I never thought about it in real depth I just looked at it if its that companies logo then they have the rights to have it duplicated. Again goes into all that grey area of the copyright stuff I guess.

  3. Delete and reinstall Ifranview. I had the same issue had to delete and reinstall then reinstall ghostscript. SBE will only open older EPS files so that may be the problem there. Ifranview also won't give you a thumbnail preview you have to actually open it.

  4. Thats a good idea! I was just transferring all the files off from it since it has all the files for most all the local towing companies along with various other local businesses. When I bid on the package I was about double what I wanted to pay but I was hoping since the guy had been in business here for 20+ years he may have some files that become useful. So now I am going to mail the 120+ businesses he has files for and let them know I have all the files now and they are still cut ready so anytime they need something replaced to please contact me first.

  5. The only other thing I can say is make sure that your ports are setup the same. IE my cutter is setup on COM 4. make sure that in WINPCSIGN whatever port is listed in LXi is the same as the one. Check all the settings there. Usually you would get a port error if it wasn't correct but maybe your software doesn't do that. To manually load the drivers for mine I had to paste the driver in the directory of the cut software and it then allowed me to install and find it there.

  6. I would think it would be much more cost effective to have it printed either to the aluminum itself or to vinyl and then apply the vinyl to the aluminum. I would price both and depending on where its going to be located make sure it is prepped the proper way IE laminated or UV protected if going to be outside... I think if you are going to try and cut that with all the colors and layers you are looking at one huge huge headache. Best of luck. If you do cut it make sure to post pics I am very curious as to how it turns out

  7. I came across my copy of FlexiSIGN yesterday at an auction. I bought a skid with computers and and various other cutting tools. (blades squeegees, mask, rulers, ETC.) any how as I was leaving the guy in charge told me there was another box of various blades and knives and flash drives in it. Low and behold my luck finally came around and when I looked in the box I noticed 1 of the flash drives wasn't a flash drive but a dongle and as I fired up one of the computers it had a copy of Flexi 8.6 on it and that is what the dongle was for. I finally got lucky!!! Is this stealing? I didn't really pay for it but I didn't swipe it from some site either. I had LXi and loved it and to my suprise Flexi is just like it except everything is unlocked. Yes I do have a cheap cutter now but that was all I could afford when I started back up. However I do have a copy of Corel Draw 12 that I did pay for when I first got into it all.

  8. I would really really hope you are talking about printing this.... I don't see it being reasonable any other way. I would do it in a heart beat and have it printed if it were going to be profitable or if it was a great customer do it at cost. But that is just me

  9. I have the R31 machine and there is no adjustment on the blade exposure in the holder. It's supposed to be adjustable but if I adjust it by unscrewing like they show after a few minutes of operation it works it way all the way loose and then no blade is exposed. My question is can I purchase a better holder with blades and use that. I don't have my machine here so I can't measure the diameter of the blade holder holder. ( I know very wordy) The only issue I can for see is maybe it would through my offset off if the diameters were different. Would it through it off enough to worry or would it be close enough I could just adjust it in my production manager. Next question is what do you guys suggest for a new holder and blade types and angle? I have been doing this for a couple years and never had a need to change blades until recently since I am on my last one. Who recommends what for cutting vinyl. I use mainly RichCal which is very similar most any other 2.5 or 3 mil calendered vinyl out there.

  10. Is it responding at all? I had to install the driver from the disk for the plotter first then install the software. I also had to manually configure the Bit rate and all those goodies in the cutting software. I have had to do this with any machine I want to use my R31 with I even had to do it with FlexiSIGN I just did yesterday.

  11. This was a great great video I just got my copy of Flexi today upgraded from LXi which is about the same but I only had the apprentice version and it did the bare minimum. Flexi is amazing. Having some trouble vectorizing with it so for now I will continue with my vector magic but in due time I will get it with Flexi... Thanks guys for the great posts!!!
