What type of mask do you all use? Not sure of the type of vinyl I'm using (just trying some test cuts) don't know if that makes a difference.

Checked the baud rate and it was same and tried again and it worked almost perfectly (just need to tweak the blade depth). Lots of trial and error. Thanks for the help.

I received my refine MH871 a couple of weeks ago. Tried everything mentioned here and still have minimal results. I've tried the serial connection with signblazer, it shows data being sent to the plotter but no cutting (tried all the com ports). I tried the parallel connection with no recognition from the cutter to my comp(tried all the lpt ports). Im running sb 2008 trial mode on windows xp. The parallel connection worked exactly once for me last week and that was the only time I was able to cut anything. I've been in the design industry for over 10 years and have a vast knowledge of vector and raster images. Running the plotter isn't something you can do straight out of the box, but running through 3 different set-ups endlessly with no results seems extremely inefficient. The discussion forums looked good when I bought the plotter and was a major reason I decided to go with USCutter. thanks for any help shuckit!

I got my MH871 in last week and have cut some simple text. When I first got the plotter I tried to run off the usb port, but after doing some reading here I switched to the parallel connection. When I was attempting to set up the usb connection I installed a driver that I couldn't get to work. Here's the problem: when I attempt to open or import a file into sb it only lets me select files from my c: drive. I cannot access the desktop or any other drives. Not sure what the deal is. I usually run a mac so I'm not sure if it's the software/pc or the user. thanks for any help. BTW I'm running windows xp pro on a IBM thinkpad with a docking station.

I won't be getting my plotter until next week due to a shipping problem. BTW does the plotter work with XP pro?
