    Weeding Small Letters

Not up for a new cutter yet, but the different blade brand is certainly worth a try! I am getting somewhat concerned that I will be getting an order of about 20 of these decals and will be spending 20+ hours weeding! Thanks for the additional tip!
  2. This is a great job!!! I have used my Epson 1280 for years on transfers and have an Epson dedicated for dyesub. I have loved them! I, however, have not tried this idea! This is a must to try, thanks for sharing the idea!

Problem with heat pressing a design

This I have done a lot of. Like the others suggested, if they are old this will happen. If not, the shirts have to be pre-heated, rolled for fuzzys, then applied with a teflon sheet or parchment paper to avoid scorching. What kind of shirts are you using? You are not washing them first are you? Good luck! I feel your frustration! Let us know if you solve the problem with another remedy.

    Weeding Small Letters

This sounds interesting. I just started trying to do decals and learning EVERYTHING from reading, asking questions here, and experimenting. What exactly does the "offset" setting do? I have just left that to default. Overcut? I am using calendered right now, maybe I should order a roll of cast. Thanks!

    Preparing for WAR!

Now this is awesome!!! Great job!
  7. I am attempting to cut a shiny heat vinyl and it seems to test feed fine but when I do a test cut the vinyl wants to pull or buckle, hence distortion. I have a new 60' blade and have adjusted it to where it makes a mark through to the mylar backing. I have slowed the cutter down to 100mm/s and 100 g. I'm not sure what adjustment I should be making to get the vinyl to lay flat while cutting. Help please? :'(

  9. Just learning, so for right now a few t-shirts, and decorating some props for a play. Looking forward to lots more!
  10. I am glad to see a comment on the Yudo. I have looked at it over and over again wondering if it is worth it. I'm glad I hesitated. It looks usable, but apparently for nothing more than a project toy.
  11. I downloaded the trial of SignCut Pro and installed the Illy plug-in. It worked seamlessly for me. I design in Illy and send to SignCut Pro smoothly. Of course, I am just starting with vinyl cutting and may be missing the big picture here, but should I even try SBE if this seems to work fine? I mean, what are the advantages of SBE over Illustrator and SignCut? Thanks.

Looking for good heat transfer paper

Ink from inkjet printers is transparent so if you apply to a dark shirt it doesn't show. You need the white backing for the ink to show. Laser is not transparent. I have done a lot of inkjet transfers, I agree with CBS 1963 about JetPro Sofstretch, it is good. I have also done laser transfers, but have not found a paper that I really like. I must admit my laser is only for letter size while my inkjet prints 13" X 19" which means I can gang print, so I haven't made a huge effort to find great laser transfer paper. I am just learning how to do heat vinyl on shirts. I have moved in this direction because I am just not happy with inkjet results on darks. Good luck and http://www.t-shirtforums.com/ has tons of info, you just have to wade through all the off topics.
  13. http://www.whatdoyudu.com/ I can't imagine using this too much, but if you're just starting with screen printing, maybe it would work?

    are people really this stupid?

My daughter works at a bank and you wouldn't believe how many times she has had to tell people the e-mail is fake and not to do what it says. She sometimes has to bring an officer in to confirm that it is a scam because they can't believe that anyone would try to scam them. THAT is the STUPID part, they will believe a hoax e-mail from someone they don't know instead of a bank employee they can see face to face and do business with.

Registration Marks in SignCut - Need help

LOVE the tutorial regarding registration marks. It looks simple enough for me to try! Thanks!
  17. I'm so glad I joined this forum. I am so confused about which software to buy and I think from what I have read it looks like there is good support here. I am going to download the trial of SignCut and give it a whirl. I only do this as a hobby right now, so I really need to see what I can do with the software before I purchase it. I bought a used US Cutter 300 because my CraftRobo is too small. I'm sure I will miss the optical eye but I have to justify the expense of a larger cutter with an optical eye by learning to use this one. I am also pleased to see that the plug-in for Illustrator is on the website, I DEFINITELY need this. I have a bunch of samples of t-shirt vinyl to try out once I get the SignCut downloaded and installed- for that I'll be checking out that section of the forum. Much thanks, probably will have lots of questions, but at least I can search this forum first.
