I am trying to convert this jpg into a vector file but cant seem to do so cleanly. I open it up in AI and use the live trace function as I was taught on here by another member and even though I am playing around with the options, I cannot seem to make it clean. Can someone convert this for me and also teach me how? Thanks in advance guys! Thank God for this forum.

Because when I do the .eps conversion in AI, it wont open in SignBlazer. I have CS3 if that matters. Someone told me that it needs to be a version 8 or older?

Hey Signgame, thanks for all your help. So I saved the .ai file and put it into my sbd folder. Am I supposed to open it in AI first, then convert to an .eps? Thanks again!!

Okay so I have tried to hand trace images using the tutorial and it just seems that I can never get it right. Ive been using vectormagic.com but sometimes this doesnt cut it so is there any other way to do this?! Ive been sent .EPS files from people and when I try to open it "using full post script interpreter" in Signblazer, it doesnt show up. When I use "postscript scanner" only half of the image shows. Why does it do this? Also when I convert JPEG files into EPS in Adobe Illustrator, it never seems to work when I open it in Signblazer. It starts to load and then the loading bar disappears. What am I doing wrong? Is it signblazer?

I had no idea. Would another option be to just get new software such as flexi? If i had flexi, would I be able to just convert jpg files to eps files in Adobe Illustrator and then just cut them? Thanks for the response.

Okay so I purchased my Refine MH-871 about a month ago and I love it. The only thing is that I am having trouble with is cutting images/logos with 2 layers on sign blazer. For example a logo is blue with a black background on EPS file. I remove the background, but when cutting, I am not quite sure how to get the holes in the middle of an "O" to cut at the same time. It just cuts a circle with no cutout in the middle. I figure i could cut the first layer and then the second but how do you guys match it back in the same exact spot? Im sure there is an easier way to do this but I havent found anything. Any help is appreciated!!

What does the Node Editing tool do? I tried using it but nothing happened. Am I supposed to use it after vectorizing the file or before after monochrome?

Okay so I recieved my mh-871 a couple of days ago and finally had time today to set it up. Everything seems to be working fine but the 2 cds that I received with it (1 small sony 215mb cd-r and the sign blazer 2008 cd) both are blank. What is that small cd-r for? and also would i be able to get another sign blazer software cd from uscutter?

Hey guys, ive been looking around on these forums for a couple of weeks now and was debating between a Refine MH-871 and a Laserpoint, but after reading a lot of posts and threads, it seems like everyone is saying the MH series cutters can do pretty much everything a Laserpoint can do except the contour cutting which I wont be needing. I will be purchasing this cutter for personal use but also to do small side jobs for vehicles, store fronts, banners, etc. I am pretty sure I am making the right choice but do you guys have any opinions/feedback for me before i purchase today? Thanks!!
