Hey Neron, how much they conversion would cost ?
Did you get your converted or you did it after yourself?
I'm reading a lot on this guy's website http://solventprinterconversion.com/
-
any of you printer guys have a recommendation for a system around $6K ?
-
I worked for a glass shop back in the day and they throw away the scarps. Stop by, tell them what you do and ask for scraps, make them a couple of free ones and you might end up picking up some business

Let me throw a few questions here :
I'm in the market for a printer, not that I do any money now with signs/vinyl, because is a hobby now.
Then why spend all that money on a printer ? Because I'll be moving overseas in over a year and want to get it here because is gonna be much cheaper, and have time to learn/train and service it if needed. So once I'm established in the other place I can open my own shop and deliver professional work and start making my money back.
Good thing here is I'm not desperate and I can take my time to find a good deal, but that's if I can recognize a good deal, know what I mean?
Where I'm going is a town of 100.000 but a really high end tourist place, so I can get by during the winter time with locals and go full steam before summer arrives and during summer with the ones trying to make money from the tourists
With this I'm trying to say that there's a demand for this service, and there's competition, but enough work to keep us all busy.
Not wasting more of your time, I'll be watching this and reading advice on what to get and what's the best bang for my buck.
Did I read that right when you said your $5000 on your printer+conversion+ink ? That's a whole lot less of what I was expecting, please let me know when you have a chance

Love the car, not my style but excellent execution and creativity.
on the mirror, you are using to much pressure, or a too coarse media, and probably a combination of both.
If you are gonna be doing more sandblasting get some Aluminum Oxide, 220 grit is what I use for glass and pretty much anything else. Is not as cheap as sand but cuts better and can be reused several times.

I think you didn't get what I was trying to say, but so you know, I know how to negotiate better prices for myself. I know I can afford to buy certain stuff that other people might not, and my comment was meant to help that people.

I think it's time for CobraInks to offer a "forum Member" discount for all the business they're getting from here, not much to cut into their profits but enough to make you pull the trigger. I'm on the fence right now, I'm gathering equipment for when I move overseas and open a shop there.

Looks GREAT Bill.
I like how you said, 'for myself'. You just know someone will be all over this post about trademark issues didn't you? ;D
We already kicked that kind of people out
You still need to be careful with what you print/cup/press because you can get in trouble but we all know that and it's up to yourself to see if it's worth the risk, no need for babysitters

This guys don't give a f*** about us, they just want to sell. If their products weren't so affordable they'd go down in a matter of weeks.

I do get upset with certain posts sometimes, but just let them go. If you have the time to tell them to go look for the info themselves, you better help them a little, is gonna take you the same time and energy. I just let them go, if YOU search, you are gonna find tons of posts with no replies, there's a reason for it.
Did i or didn't i help them still? Thank you.
You did and you're welcome

But honestly is our own fault that he got to that point. Is not my intention to point anyone in particular, but every single time he posted any of his "masterpieces" TONS of people commented on how wonderful and amazing that was, and what a great artist(?) he was, and so on.
Commenting and give props for a job well done is nothing wrong, but when those comments land on someone looking for approval to justify his rants about how he's more in any field than anyone here, it becomes a double-edged sword.
-
I don't blame him on chasing the high end jobs, but mention that every time is kind of annoying.
I tell you why I do understand and why I'm different.
I'm the owner of a window cleaning biz, focused on residential only, to me store front work is a waste of time. Why do 15-20 jobs @$10 each when I can go to a customer's house, knock it down in a few hours and get away with $400-500 ? But you don't see me on the window cleaning forums telling the store front cleaners they're wasting their time, or maybe they're not smart enough to see the difference.
He was acting like he's the big s**t here because MOST of us here are newbies or don't do that kind of work, but if you go to the glass carving forums (lots of people from here does) you can tell he's pretty much ignored there, because he's another newbie in that circle of professionals.
But comparing his work with what most of us do here is not comparing apples to apples.
Is like if I go to the window cleaning forums and start bragging about the decals I made using an old trade secret and a design that costs me thousands

i don't know about anyone else but i'm tired of seeing these posts.
Yes 651 will work fine, hell you can use 651 for signs, banners, magnetic signs and much more too.
If you're tired don't answer and move to the next post.
We just got rid of Schramm , give us a break

This site was is professional enough, plenty of newbies and people asking questions, and looking to learn new stuff.
I'm in a whole lot of more forums, like a lot of fellow members are, and know Rob is those other forums too. Weird thing is this is the only forum where he showed his stuff and played God. It was enough for me honestly, that's why I posted the pictures that made him furious, I did remember where I saw those pictures before, and he's always bitching about how much he paid for this designs, or how he "reproduced" it, I just wanted to see his reaction, but when he stated that I was breaking copyright laws for posting the pictures, but he was fine actually reproducing the art, I said "this is it for me".
Lots of people here tired of people bragging about what they do, where are all here to learn and share, and we're mostly newbies here, and a lot of seasoned veterans who are not scared to share what they know.
I just hope everything stays like this and we can get rid of the people that has nothing to share.

I use Craiglook.com , I'm looking for screen printing equipment too, but is really hard to arrange shipping on that kind of items.
We should maybe use the forum to try to get in touch with someone from here to give us a hand when you find something on another city, we can Paypal the money to a fellow member and he can be our eyes there. Sellers on CL are willing to ship most of the time but don't want to deal with the hassle of arranging shipping. Just throwing it out there, a lot of people can benefit from this, and in some way, we shuld take advantage of this networking opportunity.

This is what I see:
On the right side, right after the ".com" you can see a light, so the pictures of the panther needs to blend perfectly with your black background.
Signarte, rafael matos, sign maker - needs to be aligned to the left or centered.
If you have the time use some drop shadows or glows to make the lettering pop a little more, but I think is fine.
take care now
-
see you and good luck !
-
Honestly, I don't give a shit, tell him to sue me.
You're getting really cocky and annoying lately, seems like you were bitten by one of the jerks101's zombies.
Also I'm showing off HIS work, not trying to take credit for it. At the end I'm doing him a favor advertising his work.
-
EDIT: Pictures removed now that they accomplish their mission
-
Nice layout
did you use any old sign as a reference or is that an original design ?
-
I hope so, just bought it
Now, is there any DIY stand threads here ? :)
-
Dakota, the seller just told me he's not sure of those capabilities of the cutter, it does have the MK2 label,, but he believes that was an upgrade and he's not sure about it. He paid 2700 when he bought, so I don't know. Pretty honest guy, I like that.

I really admire you man, you're a seller by nature. And I mean this in a really positive way.
PM price for the blade holders and stand, the stand is really optional for me right now, but it doesn't hurt to know how much do you want for them.
Shipping should be to 77494
