Blade dragging . . carraige not lifting ? ?
tshirtn00b replied to static designs's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
that happens with mine once in a while. I'm not sure what causes it. Thankfully it doesn't happen often! -
Did I get the right blades?
tshirtn00b replied to CDP's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Yea, I'm checking out some pictures on google of blades that are sitting next to one another side by side. It's pretty easy to see the differences when they're zoomed in right next to each other but to just pick one up, hold it up to the light and say "Oh yea..that's a 45..." or "That's a 60..." I suppose that's something that develops over time. -

Getting back to the OP's question, is there a visual difference between a 45 degree blade and a 60 degree blade? Thanks -
nice. The fam and I will be in VA visiting family. We are gonna hop on a few trains and take a ride up there. I was there back in February for a US Lacrosse convention. Baltimore is a great town.

Can a LaserPoint cut through 30mil magnets to be used on cars?
tshirtn00b posted a topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
I read in another post that a laserpoint cut 15mil magnet at reduced speed, 200 pressure and 60* blade and got through most of the way but had no problems popping out the design resulting in nice smooth edges. Does anyone know if a LP can cut through 30mil? Any advantages/disadvantages of LP24 vs. LP48 for cutting this thicker material? Also, any anticipated lifespan of blade (how many cuts roughly before blade dulls) or cutter lifespan with continuous cutting. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks -
I use this table every day - it's awesome.

what is a Carrier Sheet?, Using laserpoint to cut tshirt transfers!!
tshirtn00b replied to wegottees's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Has anyone used those cricut brand carrier sheets? I just picked up some from AC Moore the other day - holy crap are they tacky! I ruined the card stock i was cutting when i tried peeling it off - did i miss something? They weren't terribly expensive, Under $20 for two 12"x24" mats. -
So I've been cutting decals and letters and what not for about 7 months now. Soon it will be getting cold and applying decals to car windows or storefronts will not be possible for me as I work out of my house and my "shop" does not accommodate cars. I'm just wondering what other people's experiences are like during the winter months. Sure one could seek out alternate uses of vinyl (heat press vinyl, home decor, etc.) but it would seem that primarily business is handled in the warmer months. What do you guys do during the colder months? I think I am going to try and focus on heat press vinyl and maybe steer towards the christmas/gift shopping crowd.

Hey everyone, Just wondering if anyone has used their cutter to for cutting paper (transfers, stencils, etc.). I am assuming some kind of liner would be needed. Could I just use some scrap vinyl liner and slap the paper onto it and feed it through my cutter? (LP48) If anyone knows the name of the liner or the correct method for cutting paper, would you mind sharing? Thanks Tom

According to USCutter's live support, this is what's needed to cut paper http://www.uscutterdirect.com/Replacement-Carrier-sheet-for-Graphtec-Craft-ROBO-2pk_p_370.html#

Ok, so the pollock in me just glared right through on this one. I cut some large rectangular sections of vinyl (3 colors, 20" x 57" ea.) for a customer only to go back to the order form and see that they only needed about 1/3 (3 colors 20" x 19" ea.) of what I cut and subsequently covered with app tape. Is there any way to remove the app tape or otherwise make this vinyl usable again? I'd really hate to see this go to waste. Thanks Tom

Are there color guides available for heat press vinyl? Siser, ThermoFlex, etc?

If anyone else is interested, Google came up with this from HP http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06c/A10-12771-215512-321411-321411-70255-16119-16120.html

Jay: Do you know the model of the HP vinyl or the size it comes in? Round2: Perfect, thank you!

I used Oracal 751. It's going on the back of a red pontiac grand prix. I'm a little disappointed because I didn't have wide enough app tape to mask everything off and use proper registration marks. I eye balled it and close up you can see (at least i can) where it is off a little bit.

Anyone know if coroplast is made in a Carolina Blue? From the vendors I deal with, I have only been able to find white, royal blue, yellow, red and maybe one or two other colors. Thank you.

nah, I didn't forget about it. I used the "background" function in signblazer and it left it solid. I'm gonna take a stab at cutting out the center with my xacto. we'll see how steady my hand is!

A friend of mine threw this together for me, it works really well!

Anyone have any tips for applying app tape professionally but on the cheap? The WeberMade Premasker looks like a $300 tape dispenser - has anyone tried to make their own? What about The Big Squeegee? Thanks Tom
