New Oracal Application tape for Oracal 631 vinyl

Hi, The folks over at Oracal sent me a sample of HT-55 and so far it's pretty good. I think the problem is that you might be cutting too deep into the vinyl. I'm having the same issues, it's alot of trial and error. I'm almost there but I like the HT-55 application tape. I bought the R-Tape AT-60 and it should be coming in next week. I need a clear application tape so hopefully it works. Not a waste of my money. If you don't need a clear application tape then go with the HT-55 from Oracal. Also, they are really friendly over there so just give them a call and you'll probably get Josh. He's great, easy to work with and friendly. Cheers, DM

    Contour Cutting

no. the stickers above are an adhesive backed and specially coated vinyl that will accept the inkjet ink. it does however need a clear over laminate to seal the ink. bb Hi Cutme, Did you have to use an adhesive back for the paper? Thank you!

2ND Cut with my new PCut for Kids Rooms/Babies Rooms

I'm waiting for some AT-60 application tape and I will post pictures once I get them on the wall! Thanks
  14. I just got my PCut 24" today and I have to thank everyone for their advice here on the forum. It was a breeze to setup but just perfecting the blade depth and pressure right now. So far so good... I cut these images from Adobe Illy to SignCut-X2 using the trial license but I will probably get the license for it! This has been a great experience... The images are pretty small. I'm going to be ordering some Oracal 631 24" soon and get busy! Oh Ya - I'm using my MacBook as the computer to cut... Just FYI I forgot to add - the fan noise can be heard but its not like SUPER loud and annoying. Check out the video of the unboxing and my first cut!
  15. Thanks for the tip! I actually kinda pulled the PCut cover out so it still covers but it allows for the screw to go all the way in...
  16. Ya it's pretty tight with the Blade Holder but loose with the Pen Holder. If they cut the screw down length wise it would work... but the screw is too long. Thanks for all your help! this small kink is not going to ruin my fun! haha Cheers!
  17. Here is the photo! Thanks Ken! If I screw it tight enough to hold - it presses against the PCUT cover.. Can I remove that?
  18. One thing though - the holder for the blade and pen - it kinda broke but i can still screw it in. But if I screw it in too far then it wont go up and down. But if I dont screw it tight then it wont' hold. Not a big deal but is there a fix?
  19. So my PCut 24" just came via FedEx - Setup took about 15 mins. I have to say that reading the posts here on the forum cause me to be paranoid about the quality of this machine. But after figuring out that I was tightening the blade holder too much so the blade didnt travel up and down. Which cause stray cuts in the vinyl... I think this vinyl cutter rocks... I have a LaserPoint coming in soon as well and I hope I can get that running fast too. The only issues I've had was all user error. At this point I'm trying to get it nice and perfect... I've been cutting a bit too deep which caused the Oracal 631 to stick to the backing. And right now, it's just playing with the SignCut X2 software but so far so good. I wish the SignCut-X2 software was like SBE where you can see exactly how big the cut on the paper is going to be. If anyone know how to adjust this or figure this out... Let me know! haha Thanks Everyone for their help! I plan on order a ton of 631 from USCutter later on in the week for supplies and stuff. Cheers :)
  20. It's cause Im considering purchasing a +48" vinyl cutter and I thought that having the third roller would mark down the vinyl. Do you see that problem with the Refine? Cause its' alot cheaper than the 48" LaserPoint. Or should I go with the LaserPoint 48" or PCut 48"?
  21. Hi Firemalt, Why did you go from a PCUT to a Refine? Is it better?
  22. My 24" PCUT is coming today~ So how do I setup this thing right? LOL Is the manual sufficient enough or do I have to do some massive search here on the forum?
  23. Hi All, Great forum Ken! I just started getting into the vinyl decal business. I bought a 24" LaserPoint and a 24" PCut from Ebay and I will later purchase a 50" Plotter. But for now, I was wondering -- What do I need to get either the LaserPoint 24" to work with my MacPro tower and CS4 Illustrator? Does the software it come with bundled work on my mac? Is there away that I can just print directly from the Adobe Illustrator CS4 software itself? or Do I need to get a plug-in for it? Thanks for your help! Cheers, Dil-Domin
