Try this link. Should be able to vectorize in inkscape. If you are unable to let me know I can do it for you later. http://www.clker.com/clipart-15925.html

    Wall Art

Can anyone suggest a good vector pack to purchase for (I think they are called embellishments i.e. florals, scrolls flowers)? You know the items that accent the sayings?

    Looking for red camo vinyl..

The only camo vinyl that I was able to find online was that of hunting or military colors and patterns. You might ask on this site if someone with a large format printer can print some for you.

    Air bubble problems

I live in arizona where window temps can sky rocket, will that make a difference on the solution ratio? Also is there a temperature cut off that you should install vinyl at? I have read some other posts where people mention a temperature for the other extreme (cold).

    Air bubble problems

I just recently started using Oracal 651 product. I have been having bad problems with air bubbles during assembly of multiple layers. I also just started using clear app tape, which I think migh be some of the problem. Any suggestions or solutions?

    Why so many requests?

Like edge said, I am still very new to this and it is a part time hobby, more part time than I would prefer, but my job and my family come first. I would have to agree, that the only requests should be that of help learning how to do the task at hand. Although, it seems overwhelming to start, there is a ton of info on this forum. I think the one thing that I did was get caught up in the totality of this forum. I wanted to try everything and do everything. I downloaded Inkscape thinking that it would make life easier for me. And I am sure that it will eventually. I have changed my focus to learn the software that came with my cutter which is SB. I had to remember KISS(Keep it simple stupid). I think as a new person learning this trade, that is the most important thing. SB is powerful, maybe not as powerful as other softwares available, but plenty powerful for a beginner that wants to refine their skill prior to advancing to greater and better things. I try my best to search forum topics before posting, although I am sure that I have posted items that might have already been covered, but for the most part I try to search first and ask second. Again thanks to everyone that has lent a hand to my questions. I might say this alot, but it is sincere. I brag to wife all the time about how nice and receptive all the people on this site have been. Hopefully too many people do not take advantage of others kindness and destroy a great site like this.

    NEED HELP

Are the graphics on the bike aftermarket? If so you could probably find a good picture of them just by searching for graphics from a motorcycle parts distributer. If you can find the graphic it should not be that tough to vectorize. What year is the bike? Is it a 600 or 1000

    Air bubble problems

For the wet application, I have been using a few drops of dish soap, with a capful of alcohol and fill squirt bottle with water.

    Air bubble problems

I think that I am having more problems with the assembly of my layers prior to the install. I have installed on a few windows, always using the wet method and have had very little problems with the bubbles there. My real problem has been the assembling of the different color layers while at my house prior to giving the graphic to the customer. It seems like I have been getting a lot of air bubbles since I switched to the clearr app tape, although the alignment is much easier. Before I started using the clear app tape, I watched a bunch of videos on youtube. And I have tried to match those techniques.

By the way C3, I used to live pretty close to you. I played basball for the Reading Phillies. It seems like a life time ago in 1996.

    Air bubble problems

I have been laying the app tape down then squeeging. The app tape that I purchased was the app tape from us cutter, not sure of the brand. I know that it wasn't Oracal. Previously when I was using just the standard app tape that I also purchased from Us Cutter, I did not have any air bubble problems. Should I be squeeging the clear app tape as I apply?

    Help with logo (Solved)

I guess actually being in the construction industry, I have developed a better sense for when I think people are just using me for a bid so that they can go beat another persons price down. The guy actually refused to have any phone contact and his request was mearly over the internet. I asked him how he wanted it to look and originally he wanted it as one color. So I sent him my logo that I created and he started berating me thru an email. Just not the type of person that I care to do business with. I am sure that we all have had people like that.

    Help with logo (Solved)

I think that I might have posted in the wrong area yesterday. I am doing a sign for the owner of a barbershop's car. He wants the logo in all three colors (red, blue and white). I have been able to create the words in arc and added the scissors to it, but I am having problems with the questions mark. I only have SB and Inkscape. How would I go about vectorizing the whole logo or just the question mark. I was able to vectorize the question mark in inkscape, but I can not get it too work with all three colors. Does it have something to do with layers? I have attached my SB drawing and also the logo that I was given. my logo isn't exact to the customers. I would like to give them both options whosnext1.SBD whosnext1.SBD

    NEED HELP

Which "R" There are 4 of them on the bike. Are you talking about the R on the side fairing that goes thru the vents or the R above sxr. If you need the fairing "r" then you will need a better pic with the bike standing more upright for a more direct angle on your pic
  18. Follow this link for the LP manual http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,12007.0.html SignBlazer manual comes on disc. Would highly recommend printing it out. Definetly will give you the basics. Also if you search the LaserPoint thread, it will give you all the help you will need for configuring your com pot for the serial cable. Best of luck..I am fairly new here as well, but this forum is filled with great people with a tremendous amount of knowledge.

    Air bubble problems

One of the reasons that I bought the clear app tape was that it made it easier to see the bottom graphic. This was a suggestion of another member. I am realy new to all of this. I keep trying and keep pushing myself. the only problem is that I am not always installing the graphics for people. Just providing most of the time.

    Why so many requests?

Being new also, it can get frustrating. I would be the first to admit that I ask questions, I will usually attempt it for awhile and just before I want to throw my computer I will ask questions. But if I had the opportunity, I would much rather be given a link to a tutorial than have someone do it for me. Great example, I had the opportunity to do a logo for a barber shop. I was able to get the log traced but was having problems to get the exact look. jay was able to send me the file but also explained how he was able to reach the finished project. I took his contribution and was able to do it for myself. There are some great tutorials on this forum and I thank everyone for their time. Just trying to get to a point where I will be able to return the graciousness that has been forwarded to me. If you are using sign blazer I found that actually burning up a small tree and printing the manual has been a big help. Same thing with the font guide.

    Help with logo (Solved)

Maybe it was me. I found it hard to believe that a person that took Microsoft word art and a pencil to design a logo wouldn't want a much cleaner version done by computer. He was actually pissed that I change his logo slightly to give it a cleaner appearance. Then he wanted me to morph his logo onto a picture of his Blazer that he sent me so that he could se what it would look like before buying it. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed a little over the top for a logo. Has anyone ever requested that you do that. This is just the beginning of a hobby for me that if I can earn a little money while learning so be it.

    Red Mirror/Chrome vinyl

If you search stores on ebay, there is a store called Foxfire Distributers. The guy sells in 10ft long rolls and has alot of different vinyl to choose from (machine-turned, small and large multi-lense. I have ordered from him before and product is pretty good to work with.

    Air bubble problems

I was reading some of the other threads regarding air bubles in multiple layers. Some people suggested instead of dry assembly to use wet assembly even before graphic is installed. Also could it be a problem that my top layer was red (Oracal 751 and the bottom layer was white (Oracal 651). Could that be a problem? I am not having any problems assembling smaller graphics up to 12" square. This graphic is 18" x 28"

    Air bubble problems

I am assembling the different color layers dry. This is prior to installation. That was a future question, if it was best in install on windows wet or not and how that would effect the vinyl.

Jay Thanks. The customer bailed out on me. He ended up asking for far more than it was worth. . Thanks for the knowledge.
