Press Material Question
CyberChuck replied to CyberChuck's topic in Clamshell Heat Press Discussion or Support
Okay, I lied. I just finished discussing it with my accountant (my wife of 15 years) and, since I have been able to earn a reasonable amount of "extra" money with my vinyl decals, I have enough of a stash put back to expand my ventures yet again. I believe that there are a couple of different heat press methods (correct me if I am mistaken). The first being basically like I currently do with my decals (cut, layer, etc) with the difference being in the actual vinyl and the application process. I could conceivable do this with my PCut and the correct materials. The second is to print onto printable vinyl using (I believe) a printer (which I do not currently own). What is a cheap vinyl to practice method 1 with? I know I will also have to pick up some teflon sheets. How long do these typically last when doing tshirts? I am sure I will have many more questions once I start putting everything together. Charlie -
In Inkscape, choose Trace Path and then select Colors in the popup window. Set the number of scans to the number of colors and you have it. Charlie

Press Material Question
CyberChuck replied to CyberChuck's topic in Clamshell Heat Press Discussion or Support
No garage here. I'm actually thinking of leasing a shop. I'm involved in entirely too many ventures to keep trying to do it from home. Computer service. Web design. Woodworking. Vinyl. Audio / Video editting. I have been using a friend of mines shop (2100 sq ft) for larger projects, but I need to get my own. Then I'll have plenty of room to expand. Charlie -
my sign cut has expired which way would you go?

If all you need the software for is to cut, why not just use SBE for free? Charlie -
Press Material Question

Guess not right now. I'm playing hell storing the toys I have now. I don't need to try to store more rolls of vinyl and another machine at the moment. Charlie -

LOL! The instructions in that video are in Russian. Charlie -
Using SBE, you can slit the objects and delete whatever you want to. Charlie

Vincent, You won't be able to Open the file, you have to import it. Charlie

That's sweet. I just wish they had the overall lengths and heights for the cars. Charlie

Not working for me either. Charlie

Sorry, the only thing I know about neon is that I know very little about em. Charlie

If they had the shirts made, they have the image file. Or the company they hired to make them does. I'd ask for the graphic. You might even get lucky and they have it in vector. Charlie

1033 years old and computer proficient! Damn! I'd be happy to be breathing at a paltry 150 years old. Charlie

I have a really low quality picture that is primarily text with a banner "draped" through it. I need to get this vectorized or recreated. I thought I could clean up the image, but it hasn't worked out yet. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

LOL! You were able to answer the question. If the show fits..... Charlie
-
Not trying to be contrary, but you need to get the actual dimensions. There isn't an rv around that is 24' tall. Most (80%) of all the overpasses I've seen only have 22' or so of clearance. Charlie

Okay, I got them to email me the eps file. But I can't import it into SBE or Inkscape. Is the file corrupt or am I doing something wrong? Charlie WalkOns Banner Logo.eps WalkOns Banner Logo.eps

Planning for a trade show
CyberChuck replied to bowhunter012004's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
The trade show doesn't have electricity? Back in the dark ages, I managed the engineering department of a large hotel / convention center. We had every kind of ac and dc power connections known. We'd spend two days laying out the tables and cords. Charlie -
LOL! One of the perks of being the boss. I can play on the computer. Charlie
