  1. Hi. I need to make vinyl stencils. I'm hoping to find a solution. The vinyl is clear, I think 3 or 4mil thick, and comes as rolls. You know that packing plastic that is used to keep the collar stiff on new shirts? The vinyl I'm using is like that. I've been calling around, asking people for advice. One answer is that without backing material, I can't use a stand-up cutter. I'm told the blade would cut into the bed. Instead, I'd need to use a flatbed cutter. Another answer I've gotten is that I could adjust the blade to score the vinyl and then pop out the cut-outs. Ideas? Feedback? Has anyone else done something like this? Thanks in advance for the help. Cheers, Jason
