Uncle Remus posted a topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
I am fixxing to expand my product line....mainly for a band wanting merchandise & am wanting to do shirts, hats, hoodies, thongs, etc....So which process gives a better product at the best price with the least amount of headaches...screen printing or heat transfer??? -

I am thinking about purchasing one. Anyone on here have one & do you like it. Or is there a better option? I will be printing on vinyl & canvas like material, for decals & wall art. So some will be inside & some outside, what about the inks & laminating? thinking frog juice for laminating

OK after tons of research I need to make a decision, as I have shirt orders coming in & no press...I have decided on a Hix press...Now I need to know what size is best 15x15 or 16x20?....What would I use a 16x20 for?

I need some koozies...the collapsible kind...does anybody have a good supplier for such an item??
-
not sure about vinyl...but I am going to be using either inkjet transfers or plastisol transfers....they are too small for me to cut vinyl..I don't have good luck at cutting anything small at all...lol

thanks to everyone for their input on this subject....I don't currently have the required space for the screenprinting equipment, so I guess I will be buying a heat press.... -
I am making 150 decals for a band..the decals are three colors & I have to ship them out of state in a few days...I will be using clear app tape...These will be sold at there concert this weekend, so I have very little room for error...Is there anything special I need to know about layering decals back on the backing paper & removing the app tape used to transfer the layers?? Or can I just leave the clear app tape on the vinyl that i am layering & when finished just put clear app tape over everything when finished..any suggestion will be greatly appreciated..
-
five - what would that have cost me?? they was 9"x6"
-
well it's finished & on the way to be sold at a concert this Sat....It was a pain to do all of them I did them in 2 days of production time...cutting...weeding...layering...WITHOUT reg marks...just using a light table & my eyes...No more multi-color decals in that large of quanity, I think I will keep the max to around 25 or so for now on...

will need more info...like what grade vinyl...how much vinyl..design time...install time...etc....

Uncle Remus replied to Brandon_Davis's topic in Community Rules & Announcements
so what's up with this tape...anyone use it & if so is it any good??? -
my greatest thanks to Jen & Vinyl Dragon for your assistance....
-
Jen...thanks that was how I was thinking... but one question - the second layer, when I apply it dry - do I leave that app tape on also??

I have a job to make some ghost flames & I am using a semitransparent vinyl to achieve this...it is kinda pricey 117.50 for a 24"x10 yrd. roll...Am I correct in that in my calculations of 8640 sq. inches in this roll? & my cost is .014 per sq. in. ? I got that by dividing (the price) 117.50 by (the total sq.in) 8640.... So are my calculations correct?? Something don't seem right to me, so I am just getting another opinion!!! Thanks for your input in advance....

Thanks...Jay & rodger...BTW rodger your little bug made me keep swatting at my screen...it took me a minute to figure out what it was...lol

FireMalt..I tried clicking & holding the "t" text & the only option was the text direction Glad to know, now I will not keep trying, it was driving me crazy
-
I assume you can't make arc text with flexi-starter, if you can will someone please tell me!! I looked in the manual & there is supposed to be an arc tool, but mine does not have the said tool.. I guess this means I would have to upgrade to the pro version, if I want this option?
-
Which upgrade do I buy copam or Graphtec CE5000
Uncle Remus replied to mr300s's topic in General discussion
I would have to agree with Rodger on that the co-pam is the way to go if you are just starting unless you have a big bankroll, you can use the extra $400 on vinyl & other supplies.
