A couple of things for a Tattoo shop

When I started out I did'n't charge for the time it took me to install, rather what I figured it should take me if I had more experience. This way you get paid something for installing yet you're not over charging because of inexperience. Otherwise so and so will tell next so and so what you charged and when you give the next so and so a quote he'll ask well, how come first so and so only paid $$. I figured just easier to keep it all straight from the get go. Plus I have practiced on everything here at home from vehicles, doors, trailers etc...

    Door Graphic

looks great, love your art work
  10. I got the new epson workforce 1100 with cis system. I'm wondering what settings you use for screen print positives? Also, if you've changed any of the color settings and found that the color is better for printing transfers would you mind sharing your changes? Any thing else you can think of that you have changed in the settings to improve the printing please post for everyone to share. Thanks, Heidi

    dressed up my screen door

well I repainted the house and screen door and it just was crying out for some PIZZAZZ lol Put this design together yesterday. cut it, weeded it (phew glad it's done) and applied this morning. I think it really dressed up the entrance area.

    dressed up my screen door

It actually has a splice in it. It's 30" x 30" and I have a roland gx24 so needed to make 2 pieces.. It didn't take all that long to weed actually for all the detail in the outer part. I used oracal 751 and it weeded very nicely. Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

    dressed up my screen door

Glad it don't look tacky! I hear ya though, took me several tries with graphics to figure out one I would be ok with having on my door. Here is a close up pic of the design. I had to go out and take one quick.

Heat press vinyl + Heat dryer?

I haven't ever had any lift up unless it was regular heat apply that was put on nylon. I always repress my designs for an additional 5-6 seconds after lifting the cover. My only problem I've ever had with vinyl on t's was with enduratex wrinkling on the shirt. Easy weed and ecofilm I've had no problems with. Perhaps give it another hit with the heat press after the initial press with good pressure.

NEED ADVICE ON THIS CAN KOOZIE

you can put a cover sheet over it and press the whole thing. I've just always repressed for 5 or 6 seconds after pulling the backing off my designs. Guess it just reassures me that it's stuck good

    Help screen printing from home

I started with waterbased inks last year and am still using water based. It takes a little to get use to so they don't dry on the screen but not difficult at all. I use permaset ink. I also like the matsui. You just need to backflood and cover your design after you print. I've had no issues. I'm no speed demon lol did a 42 t-shirt/sweatshirt order last week, front and back and didn't have any drying issues with the waterbased. I use my heat press to cure. After set I've even tried the extreme of bleaching a shirt, using excessive stain remover spray etc to test the ink set (as we know customers do these kinds of things) and it just fades the ink ever so slightly. I built a screenprinter from my How to print tshirts for fun and profit book. Will of course buy a nice one someday that has auto registration but for beginning this works great!
  19. I talked to Richard yesterday and ordered mine as well. My 1280 head is giving out and for the price it's just as easy to order the 1100 with the cis and pigment ink. Can't wait to get it after hearing all the reviews.
  20. I don't often post my work but thought I'd share my latest job as it used graduated vinyl (black to red) which is something I've never seen posted before. The customer had me put together a logo for them, screenprinted T-shirts on my homemade screenprinting press and did 2 decals for their horse trailer. This job in return has gotten me more work screenprinting a logo I did for the Team penners Association locally. So all in all it was a good deal! Heidi
  21. Before I got my Roland I used scissors to cut around the design. Just leave about 1/4 inch beyond design.

fold up outdoor director style chairs

Thanks for the comments. I'll just have to give it a shot and see how they hold up.
  25. Not quite sure how to describe them. They come in a nylon bag, they're typically in the camping section of stores. Has anyone ever applied vinyl or screenprinted on these chairs? I'm thinking there's probably some type of water repellent on them and not sure if it would work without doing something prior. Anyone ever tackled these. I happened to pick some up on sale the other day and was wondering how to go about decorating them. Thanks, Heidi
