first see if it will self test then how is it connected. serial or parallel? what software are you using? how is it configured?

the uscutter mh-365 is a good unit. It should meet your needs. Depending on the version of windows, you can cut from adobe, otherwise, it is a simple save from adobe, open file with cut program, and cut.

I have found a pentagon to work best for me.

Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator, both have plug-ins for Cut Studio, both can handle .eps files. I would suggest looking for an older version of Illustrator.
