  1. Well, my laptop died friday evening. Dead to the world the "Black Screen of Death". I'm hoping to find a computer place in town that can revocer all my files soe I can load then on the desktp which is slower but uses the com port. Will have to save money to get a new computer. The toss up is another laptop or a desktop? Laptops usally don't have com ports. So, I leaning towards a desktop model.

  2. Normally what I do is take my image that's in CorelDraw and save it as a .svg file. Then use Inkscape to convert it to .eps file. Then I inport it into SB and do my work with to clean it up and save it as a .sbg file. It's a hassle but it works for me. Inscape by the way is a free download.

  3. I'm using SignBlazer with Flexi Starter on my laptop with Vista. It can be picky at times. I just make sure all settings match.

    In Sb on plotter settings:

    Baud Rate: 9600

    Data Bits:  8

    Parity:        None

    Stop Bits:  1

    Flow Cobtriol: Hardware

    Com 4: USB Serial Port

Then in your Device Manager look for the following:

    Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers:

    USB Serial Converter:

On the Advance tab my VCP is checked. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problems.

    The check under COM (Com&Lpt):

It should so USB Serial Port (*) *meaning what ever port you're using. Mine happens to be Com 4.

Then check it's properties to make sure they match what you have in SB or any other program you're using.

    Hope this helps.

  4. This is a pic of a custom made lic plate holder for a bike that's in a bike show this weekend in Las Vegas. The chromer did a very poor job. I was asked if I could do something. I had this sample piece from Oracal. It covers up the bad chrome job and I did some pinstriping along the edge to hide the vinyl line.
