I'm doing a lic tag that has 4 lines of text each line is a different color. I'm using a MH-871. The first color cuts fine. When I setup to do the second color SB freezes and I have to reboot my computer to get it to work again. I'm using a HP laptop with 2 gigs of ram and the USB port. The plotter works fine it's jusr SB freezes when picking the next color to cut.

Pricing of Auto Lic tags
pinhead_54 replied to pinhead_54's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Thanks for your help -
It's been a while since I've posted here, but I have a pricing question. How much should the price be for auto lic plates? With todays economy I don't want to cheat myself out of turning a little bit of a profit while saving the customer some money. Thanks, Frank

US Plotter Decision
pinhead_54 replied to mdamian's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
I bought the MH-871 as a starter for my pinstriping business. I love it. As a matter of fact it has opened other jobs that I would not have done as a pinstriper. -
Has anyone made a stencil with a MH-871
pinhead_54 posted a topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
I need to make some stencils using Dura_Lar .005 mil Film. Should I use a 60 deg. blade vs. the 45 deg. blade? Should I cut a 4 in. per sec. ? I've seen this material cut using a Roland DX-24 and I think my MH-871 should be able to do it also. All comments welcomed. Frank -
This the 2nd pan for my daughters boss's family in Alabama. I made the masking with my MH-871 plotter, then hand painted with 1Shot lettering enamel.

MH-871 Cutter Starting From Roll
pinhead_54 replied to Xzeous Sport's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Just on the plotter. After getting you vinyl in position just press the origin button. Not the reset button. As this would take back the the home position (the far right of the plotter). I do this all the time now that I have figured it out. -
Confused by MH-871
pinhead_54 replied to Tshrtman2000's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
I don't know to much about the cad-cut material but I feel that the MH-871 would do fine for that material. I did go to the cad-cut website and they so the settings for the Roland GX-24 which goes from $1600 to $2200 depending where you buy. I bought my MH-871 because of the price and that it would do the masking material that I need for my airbrushing projects. I hope I'm correct in this info if not someone with the knowlege will correct me. (I hope) HA HA HA. -
This is a work in progress pan. I will let the 1Shot lettering paint dry then will do some pinstriping to finish it off.

Sorry for the bad pic but lighting was bad and flash over powered a little.
-
Yes, it's 1Shot lettering enamel. I let the paint tack up a little bit then peel the mask off.

I would like to say I love my new MH-871. I have done some lettering masks for pizza pans I pinstrip and or airbrush. I use CorelDraw X4 along with Inkscape and SignBlazer. The setup was easy and I had it up and running in just minutes. It has already started opening the creative juices flowing. HA HA HA. It's the best investment I've made. I would love to do small signs and banners but there's too many sign shops in business in my small town, but I'm the only pinstriper that's still in business. Hmmmmmm. Pays to be retired I guess. My new MH-871
pinhead_54 replied to pinhead_54's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
The Coyotes pan was done with a flat white spray can paint. Then I used House of Kolors pearls and House of Kolors pinstriping paint. The HD pan again a flat black spray can paint and then 1Shot lettering enamel. I get the pizza pans from Walmart when they have them. They're the 12" pans. I have been looking at comments on the forum. Haven't really posted anything. I've been busy learning how to use this plotter and cleaning up alot of graphics to use. Here's a piece I did by hand that I had a lot of fun doing. It's done on a mirror. Lettered by hand. The back reflection was alot of fun. -

My new MH-871

Here's a pan I did for a youth hockey benefit auction on the east coast. This was all masked and cut by hand before I got my plotter. Took me about an hour to trace then cut so I could paint. -
Hello, I'm a pinstriper and new to airbrushing. I bought a MH-871 plotter and am looking forward to making my own masks for airbrushing.

I just bought my new MH-871 plotter along with Flexi. The plotter came with SBE. I noticed that not all the features are available. Like the Ridge distortion and many more. After spending the money I did it sure would be nice to have all the features. Do I have to send you more money? It says the registration info was sent to the server, but I have not heard anything back. I've read here on the forum that the SBE company is being sold. To register SBE it asks for the program serial number but there is not one to be found. I have the install number. My main question is how do I get all the missing features to appear? Frank
-
I'm glad you like my nickname. I chose that because I'm a pinstriper by trade. My original question about the distortion features was asked because I was reading the SBE manual that comes on the CD and it showed the Ridge distortion. Thats what I was looking for and I guess it's not part of the SBE version I got from USCutters. I guess that's part of the SB Pro version. Anyway thanks for your valued input. Frank

I did this on my new MH-871. I used Venture White Vinyl. Then airbrushed with HOK Tangerine Pearl.
