  1. Hi, I posted this as a reply to a previous user, but decided it may not be seen as quickly as a new post, so please excuse the duplication. I have a Copam 2500 and use SignCut software. I am connected on LPT1, which has worked great until recently. Mostly I use only text because I am cutting blast masks to be sandblasted on wood. This particular job that I am working on has 4" letters and the cutter want end where it started on a letter, it gives irregular spacing between letters (sometimes overlapping the previous one) and in some cases cuts something that doesn't even resemble the letter it should be cutting. I've tried everything I know, including downloading the latest version of SignCut which made it worse, so I uninstalled that and re-installed from the SignCut disk. I have been creating my files in MS Word and saving as RTF with no problem or creating the file in SignCut itself. As was suggested on another post, I check the carriage to see that it is level and it appears to be and also the little white wheels appear to be running underneath the track. Do I have to remove the cover to inspect a top set of rollers? Will somebody please help? Thanks, Buck

    cuts cross over eachother

Hi, I am having the same problem, overlapping fonts, erratic spacing, odd shaped letters, etc. It appears that the carriage is level, and the set of white wheels are underneath the track which seems to be the only place they could ride, but do I have to remove the top cover to inspect a top set of wheels? It just started this when I really need to get out a big project of course. I use the text editor in SignCut to create the lines to cut, I am connected to LPT1. I downloaded the new version of SignCut and made everything worse, so I uninstalled and re-installed from the SignCut disk. I'm at my wits end, if I even have a wit! Please, somebody help! Thanks, Buck
  3. I am pretty much a novice at this "stuff", but I was having all kinds of problems similar to yours. I had downloaded SignCut from the website, thinking it would be the latest version out and nothing would work. I uninstalled SignCut and re-installed from the cd. Now all that part works, even though I still have some problems with the cuts. Just a suggestion from a dummy. Buck

    not cutting

Thanks to both of you guys for your info. This is a Copam CP-2500, do you think I'm trying to cut too thick material with this cutter? It seems it should cut it although it is .002 thicker than the recommended thickness for the cutter. Thanks again, Buck
  5. Hi, when trying to cut 42 mil (.042) blast stencil, the material wants to twist sideways on the cutter as if one of the grit wheels is not feeding, although it is. Also, the cutter is not cutting clean, rough edges. Can someone give me a guideline as to cutting speed and pressure? And, any other info that could help with my problems? Thanks, Buck
