  1. Im very new to the industry as well but I learnt REAL QUICK that using cheap vinyl is like trying to learn how to cook with really crappy pans. You will get frustrated and ticked off using sub standard products. Buy the stuff you will be comfortable sending out to customers and learn on that, if you blow 30 feet of good quality vinyl its still only like 30 bucks and thats alot cheaper than all the BS you will have to endure dealing with BGS headaches longterm.  Now is NOT time to be cheaping out.

This Man has it right......... get what you are going to use and learn with it........

Education always has a cost.......but you will be better off to learn with what you are going to use.......JimT

  2. Well, I use no app tape on Digital Print alot and felt squeegee is a must........also

stripes like he was using.... need no app tape....why waste material, its not being cheap......its being smart, we all need to save where we can.......Right?

Also if you wet the back as you pull off the backing.....it will not stick to its self...

just work as fast as you can......and you young men should be able to do that.....I can and I am 66......lol

  3. Yup! Always a better deal......I charge a fair price, very fair most of the time...

but then I am Retired and only work out of a large Flea Market here In Fla.

So I hear alot of bull........... I just say this is my Price.....and the others know what there work is worth........but I think mine is worth this price......always a cheap 0 out

there.........this is my 2 cents...

  4. I have been a woodworker and primative sign maker  for 25 years , mostly as a hobby. I am 54 years old. I have not purchased a machine yet, it seems this would be good place to get that advice. I would like to use as a stencil cutter mostly, so I can personalize a sign or furniture piece, also can I use a software such as corel draw to do the graphics and lettering design. Thanks, Mark

    Welcome Mark........

US CUTTER can fix you up.......I have a MH-721 that works its butt off 5 days a week...One small problem at the start........and then Ken took care of that ....

Its been a good workhorse for almost a year now........getting ready to purchase

another one soon..........cuts better than my OM-60 that cost much more......

Very good ......and Coreldraw and signblazer will get you started....... then think Flexi...later

  5. 5-6 drops of liquid soap ( I use Wisk)  1/4 cup ISOPROPYL (rubbing) alcohol 70% to speed up the drying.  do NOT use denatured alcohol. It will diseolve the adhesive.

This works for me and has for years.......But I like Rapid Tac for some smaller jobs...

  6. Soooooooo........... Let me ask you, do you all everytime you want to use some of the clipart that you buy.....write and get permission, as you know if its not in black & white its not anything........and if it is in black and white it may be ify. Like if you use a Coka Cola logo.........you are to first call coke tell them and buy a license to use it....one time

Hope you all are a Legal as you sound........but with 50 years in business......I doubt it.......Oh and don't  use logo till you get license in writing........even if this means you loose the job........lets stay Good........since there are a million other signmakers that will

do it while you are waiting.......and I know well thats them, and some of you ........

I am not being smart but lets face it if all was perfect it would be nice, but since almost everything has been drawn or a fax to it.........its maybe hard to be always so orginial as not look a little like someone else work, its all beem done  in some form or another.....

  7. Hi all,

I've got a customer who wants to get some vinyl put on colorplast signs.  He says he found somewhere to get the blanks for like .99 and wants me to quote putting vinyl on them.  Size is 24" X 18" each.  I'm not sure how to quote this one.  I'd like to give him a qty discount on larger orders, so if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.    breakdowns on like 12, 24, 50, 100 pcs.

Well I have been this business along time.......and you can't do more cheeper.....

takes just as much material and time to do each one....... its not like screen printing

so if you want to get cheep have them printed for a few dollars each........ but check it out almost all have a screen charge, setup  fee, and art if any at a fee........so do check for best price
