  1. I think this is a static/grounding issue. I went to the electronics store and bought some 12ga wire, some crimp ends and a power cord and made a grounding strap setup that plugs into the wall socket grounding pin. I also taped some dryer sheets on the back of the unit where the vinyl feeds into the rollers so that it drapes down over the vinyl as it is fed in. I seem to be fine now with cutting, but my next move will be to run a humidifier in the workshop during work hours to keep the static to a minimum.
  2. OK, here's what I got. Refine MH1351 SignBlazer Elements WindowsXP Pro Serial Connection. This happens at random, but I feel like it happens most when the rollers have to travel long distances. I'll start a cut job, it'll begin going then suddenly and randomly stop, drop the blade down, and starts making a humming sound. The LCD screen goes blank. The only way to get out of this is to either power off the unit and then back on, or to hit the RESET button. I've burned through a few yards of material so far on a job, and I don't really want to keep burning vinyl. I've mentioned this problem once before, and someone said to try simplifying the image that I'm trying to cut, that seemed to work for that particular job, but now it is worse, and I can't simplify the image I'm trying to cut any more than it is. I read somewhere where a guy replaced the motherboard for this problem, but he never really came back to say how it has been working since the replacement. Anyone else seeing this issue? Any suggestions?
  3. I am having the exact same issue as was mentioned here. MH1351 Windows XP Pro SignBlazer Elements This doesn't happen all the time, and it is trial and error. But I did some testing today because I had a huge roll of cheap vinyl I could mess with and not care too much about ruining it. A note about the design I tested with...it was a simple text, 2" tall, that says "B. $lo
