Refine with optical Eye
MikeMan replied to John Thomson's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Somebody posted about one these back in May - http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,17905.0.html I would love to have a laser on my Refine!!!! -
I use Corel X3 and export to Sign Blazer with pretty good luck. I covert All objects to curves (text, elipse, rectangle, etc...) then select all and export as an eps (some stuff I group before exporting if I think I may want to drag around or re-size later.) After importing into SBE view in wireframe to see if you got everything. Also, check all curves in Corel to make sure they are closed before exporting. This works good for me - although there are some graphics that I've imported into Corel that just won't cross into SBE correctly (mostly files I work on for my buddy that has a ShopBot.) I have SignCutX2 as well, but prefer SignBlazer. Good Luck

Is there supposed to be a backlight on the LCD for the LaserPoint? I just switched back to using my Refine for a larger job, and realized how much easier it is to read the Refine's backlit display. Thanks, Mike

LP Cutter and Contour Cutting Question
MikeMan replied to Sprocketsrocket's topic in Pre-sale questions
The LP will contour cut with Sign Blazer Elements. -
Thanks Blues, That is actually the 2004 body style which was a significant change from the previous year. Thanks again though, Mike

Does anybody have an outline of the Ford F150 4 door Super Crew? I've looked at some collections, but this one must not be very popular. Please and Thank-you!

Got the matte black vinyl from Tyrrell Tech earlier this week - shipping was under $12.00

Anyone know where I can get a decent price on a roll of 48" x 10yd 651 Matte Black? USCutter sales said they weren't interested... Thanks, Mike

Lost 17 auctions before I won my LP. Pick the price you're willing to pay, then snipe till you win.

Thank you for sharing.

I remember seeing a picture of the left quarter window of a Porsche with a Porsche MotorSports decal in the original post

LaserPoint LCD Backlight?
MikeMan replied to MikeMan's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Thanks Howard. -
When you are at the print screen click on the 'Fit' button and set your scale for 1:1 I had a heck of a time when I first started contour cutting with the LP - finally noticed my 9" graphic was only approx 8" when printed. I finally made a 6" x 6" square, then I printed, measured, and tweaked until my 6" square printed out at 6" x 6". I then created another square 6.250" x 6.250", which I made a different color and arranged directly behind the original. Just before I printed, I selected the larger square and selected cut mask on/off - When the square disappears (in normal view) the cut mask is on. Make sure workspace is letter/portrait. Hope this helps.

LaserPoint LCD Backlight?
MikeMan replied to MikeMan's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Thanks Ken, I'd say the backlight is definitely out on my LP... I just went back out to the shop and turned out all the lights with my LP turned on. In the dark, all I can see is the output from my laser. Mike -
Thanks FF, I've looked at a lot of sites, but TyrrellTech is the first one I've seen that called out both the Gloss and Matte finishes on their 48' rolls  Mike

Setting up estimate effectively
MikeMan replied to john!'s topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Unless you are paying an employee, the 'Overhead Labor' of $36.34 is going in your pocket! -
Thanks John! I'll call them tomorrow.

You can press without the teflon sheet in a pinch with EZ Weed, just make sure you don't put the vinyl in the press upside down...
