    skateboard grip tape

Bumping this back up...Been toying with the idea and came across this in a search... After reading through, here's my idea! Apply vinyl over the grit side. Run it though the cutter upside down and cut in mirror...The vinyl over the grit will keep it together so it doesn't break up and get into the machine. And with the backing cut, the rest should punch out with at little help. What do you think? I am a little afraid to try it...

Hey newbie here, really want to learn!!

Welcome aboard! I too am starting out to expand my screen printing business. I also came by way of tshirtforums... The possibilities are endless! One cool thing I am doing now is plotting stencils to etch glass with armour etch! Check youtube or the "Instructional contributions" subforum in here for ideas.

    Help with an outline please.

I am having trouble with my logo...It's 3 layers that I hand drew the first/convert/add outlines/convert/weld/etc... Take a look at the attached file to see what I am trying to accomplish and what is happening. I want the "*ew!*" with an outline (the grey to weed out leaving the black/red). I tried trimming out the second layer (grey) from the 3rd (black) in Corel, but it did not trim properly Any suggestions/advise? I would appreciate it!

    Help with an outline please.

Thanks again Kage...You traced a lower res bitmap I posted, but you gave me an idea of what to do with a better res that I have. I cut the top layer and converted the 2nd and 3rd to a hires bitmap and traced that, then pasted the top back on. IDK why I couldn't cut the 2 layers with the original file, must have something to do with how I created them (making outlines and then converting outlines to objects, then repeating).

    Harry Plotter!

Cheers to us...! Muttley, I've been using Corel for 12 or so years now (its what my 9-5 uses)...So I can rip through most designs with ease. I might take a look at Inkscape since its free, I also use Illy when a customer provides an AI file I can't import properly... I can't wait to have some time to REALLY get my hands dirt on this machine! But I have a ton of screenprinting to do and still am working on getting some kind of workshop/app table set up...

    Harry Plotter!

I use Corel...Had some problems cut/pasting, but my files were pretty complicated and involved. I just exported/imported them to make it work. Still have one design that is problematic! :'(

    BGS Vinyl?

Is is any good??? I was gonna get some Shinerite to start off, but would get this if it is any good. I tried searching...Maybe BGS is too small of a search word...Anyway, looking around and I only found one post about BGS, but they only mentioned that USCutter was out of stock on them...

    Haunted Drive In

Dont we all. They all lost their jobs at the brewery. Sam adams uses the facility to put out 16 gal. and 8 gal. out. They only needed 10 people. Rolling Rock was a great beer it is a shame. It's a damn shame! I live by Victory Brewing Co., so I still have some good local beer!!! PS~ I spy a GoMedia skull

Cool, thanks double f...I am getting some 631 & 651 from USCutter, but I also have a list of supplies to get from Fellers, so maybe I'll grab some Shinerite instead of the BGS...Where do you get your FDC?

Looking for a point in the right direction

I would suggest tracing the image with the pen tool. It is simple enough if you are familiar with the pen tool...? Then just bump up the outline to where you like the "convert outline to object". Or use Corel Trace and try the "line art" setting. Then bump up the outline size to where you want in Draw. Thats a quick suggestion...This is a great image to learn your way around the pen tool!!! Manipulating nodes is important in vectorizing. I would recommend tracing with a pen tool if you have the time to learn...If not send me Corel X4 and I'll do it for you
