    plexiglass?

Never done it, but I read ppl putting vinyl on the back for color...Or you can always buy colored plexi! I assume spraypaint with a clear coat on top (on the back) will do the trick...?

    magnets

Very nice! I like the black magnets with silver/white (or did you layer black vinyl on white magnets)? Also, did you semi cut through the magnets and then punch them out or order diecut magnets?

    projected sign???

I believe its a generic Xmas style spotlight, the ones used to light trees and buildings with...It WILL get pretty damn hot...Maybe we can contain it in a metal box with an opening on the other end for the light to come out (through the design)? Their window is small and has small framed panes...And the inside of their shop is nice so they also want that open.

    projected sign???

Thanks guys! I will try using B&W film...Not sure how I'd set it up on the light though. It's kinda a domed lens one... Maybe if I can't rig something, I'll the glass stain...Thanks for the ideas!

    projected sign???

I was thinking more of cutting the image and putting the vinyl on the glass lens...Just not sure if the vinyl would melt? I do have a digital film processor for flexo plates/screens...Maybe I'll just go with that.

    projected sign???

Well, they are a tattoo shop...They have an A-frame sign out front and recently moved into this building...Their reputation in this town and skilled artists would keep them in business even if they worked out of someones garage This idea is cool, I just want to know how they do it... Like these guys http://www.holidayprojector.com/index.htm!

you opinion is important for me

Looks good...My only critique is there are too many different fonts on it...I'd change the products list font to one of the ones already used on the card...But it also looks good as is.

    Paid Job #1

Good work! Looks clean and classy...I think you stumbled upon something with the inside/outside vinyl app...It projects a nice shadow on the store hours...Gives it dimension.

    Another banner

2'x5' banner...My first encounter with a long graphic. What a PITA!!! First off the 2 myspace bars ran ganged/stacked, but the bottom one didn't line up properly??? The thin outline didn't close (cut) on one but did on the other (and they ran ganged)...I had to go oldschool and re shape the corners with an xacto. Then if you look closely the "p" in "myspace" came right to the edge of the bottom one but was fine on the top...I simply duplicated the image in SB. Then the application...Due to the limited space, I had to run the bars right along with the hem. Ugh, that was a hassle getting straight! The slightest bit off and it was obvious. All and all it came out good enough for me to be proud of. And the customer was happy!

    Newbie - requesting help!

Derrick, I meant using solvent inks to screen print onto the vinyl...A bit different from plastisol inks. They can be pretty nasty and you NEED proper gear and ventilation! You mentioned a laminator, so crossing over your printer might be more hassle than worth??? Look into solvent inks and screen printing if you are well established as a printer. I use Corel, I have CS2 but I work faster in Corel...All I do is save my work in corel (.cdr), then export what ever I want cut as an EPS file. Then import it into Signblazer. Supposedly you can cut/paste from Corel to SB, but I've had no luck...It's pretty simple. Using Corel/Adobe for so long, I just can deal with learning a rip program to design in... I can't really speak from experience for other programs, but I believe Flexi can be used to cut directly from Illy/Corel and there is another, I think Signcut??? search around...

Couple things I did this week

Very cool stuff! I take it there's no Guitar Hero templates out there? What make the etched vinyl interesting to work with (besides its cool factor)?

    Digital Photo Frame

Nice...I too am looking for one of these (for my parents). So far, my main concerns are looks (I don't want a cheesy looking frame) and a remote...Subscribing to see if anyone has input!

    Another banner

Strange...the worst part for me was they were stacked one on top of the other on the same sheet of vinyl...? I guess I should mention I use SB. Maybe thats the problem? Sometimes I have to trick the program into working for me THANKS FOR ALL THE COMPLEMENTS!!!

    turkey help???????????

The only limitation is the 24". But you already figured that out...You are correct about the tape (application tape). Look throught the videos here or on youtube, search "vinyl application" and you'll get the just of it. You would have to buy special printable vinyl if you want to print w/ the HP WF. And as far as screen printing the vinyl, I would suggest you die cut the vinyl FIRST, then break it down into sheets, the print with solvent inks (I assume you are familiar with solvent inks?). As for a learning curve...We'll I myself am just learning, and really I don't think you EVER stop learning. Out the box you should be cutting in no time. The hardest part is assembling the stand . Really though, the hard part IMO is learning the software. But I do all my work in Corel, then export/import into Signblazer and then hit the cut button. You might want to look into other software... You seem to know your way around...Don't worry too much about any horror stories you may have read! You will hit wrinkles, that will always happen in life. But with the support of this forum and the knowledge of the interwebz, you'll work things out!

    turkey help???????????

mmmm....TURKEY! My woman and I made (possibly invented) a Bobbie Pie...IDK if you guys have these your way, but we have Bobbies/Dickens/Gobblers around our way. It's a hoagie with stuffing, mayo, turkey and cranberry sauce. So we decided to try it in a pie! Stuffing/turkey/cranberry sauce all baked inside a pie...It was amazing! I hope everyone had a good Turkey Day!!!
