    Prayers needed

I send out my prayers for your family. Tragic. Try to think positive!!!!
  2. Thank you very much!!!! That is what I won and that is what I needed to know. I appreciate the fast response and support! People were right!!!!!
  3. Thanks you, Thats what I thought but you never know on ebay! I got kinda nervous, If you do not mind can you send me a Private message telling me what I should expect to get from the auction.
  4. Hi everyone. I just bought a 24"laserpoint from US Cutter off of ebay. I decided to buy from ebay, just because I like the ease of ebay and security of Paypal. People on this forum have convinced me that US Cutter is a great company and so far I've been pleased with the forum and flow of information. (FYI: i have not received my cutter yet). But there was one major issue with their Ebay listing that I didnt notice before I purchased the item and now that I realized it, its kinda got me a little nervous. I broke a cardinal rule of Ebay shopping:"NEVER purchase an item if the listing does not adequately show ALL that is included with the auction. ALL the listings for the 24" laserpoint cutters that USCutter has on ebay shows nothing in the "INCLUDED" area of their auction. I did not realize this till it was too late. It rubs me the wrong way because I've been burnt on ebay before and I'm a little scared. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THIS WAS DONE ACCURATELY! Really I just want to know minor things such as "will my cutter come with a blade?". Am I just being stupid and panicing or should I be concerned?

What does your user name mean??

my name comes from my college roommate. We were both graphic communications majors. We always had friendly competition about our designs and work. He would always tell me he was " toografik4u" ...like his stuff was better than mine. We were always like one and two in our classes. So needless to say but it always stuck with me because it was a witty pun.

    Need some help with image

Sounds like your strokes are not scaling. Go to preferences and check the box that says "scale stroke and effects" (something like that....). This should cure your problem. If this file was created outside of adobe you may be looking at a completely different problem. Let me know if this helps.

North Carolina- Hi 'Im the New Guy

well I am very new to vinyl/signs but I am very good at printing and design/web software (adobe). I am a prepress manager for a litho printer. So day in and day out I handle InDesign and illustrator files all the time. I focus on color separation and color management. I hope a lot of what I already know about printing will translate to making vinyll graphics.

    Vinyl (when you start off)

This is good to know. I definately like the prices with the 9.99 shipping. Have you ever had damage isssues with shipping when you order vinyl?

    Vinyl (when you start off)

I heard that signwarehouse.com is really good. Is this true?

    Vinyl (when you start off)

I was wondering how forum members did when you first got your plotter. Did you buy one of these sampler packs or did you load up on orajet or avery? I am trying to manage my money accordingly. I haven't bought anything yet because I am trying to arrange a budget and I just would like to have an idea of what would be good to stock and what would be good to order if a job called for it. Really I am just looking for the basic idea.

North Carolina- Hi 'Im the New Guy

My Father and I used to go camping in Johnson City. I love it there. Asheville is great too! I've lived here my whole life except the four years I went to school. It's completely changed in the last five or six years. Place is really growing. It is nice to see there are "local" people who are on this forum.

North Carolina- Hi 'Im the New Guy

I sure hope it works out. I have had people ask me for years if I did vinyl graphics or if I knew someone who does. I hope these same people will be around when I actually do get a vinyl cutter. It's funny how you can have plenty of opportunity in front of you and not really see it during that moment. One of my favorite hubs on this forum is the pricing/business section, it is nice to see input from people who have been doing this for a while.

North Carolina- Hi 'Im the New Guy

Hi everyone. Im from North Carolina, I recently graduated from college with a bs in Graphic Communications. I have been doing graphics since I was a freshman in highschool. Mostly all my background is in printing or web.... not sign/vinyl making. I am currently shopping for a plotter. I stumbled across this forum about two weeks ago and soaking up knowledge ever since. I have been working my tail off over the past year to afford stuff that could make me money at home (imac, software, etc.). Needless to say but when you start out it is slow makings at first. I slowly adapted to the learning curve of the real world. I work super hard (pretty much all the time), I hope i can make this choice pay off for itself. seeing some success stories really helped. i just want to say thanks to the forum members who have helped me already and to the ones who help me in the future. Thanx. ~Jamie

    imac software & cutter compatibility

well that is good to know. If you dont want to have your pc and mac networke, I would suggest investing in a mobile me account and use their iDisk feature. I have one and I am a prepress manager for a printing company and it comes in handy daily. The only restriction to mobile me is that you can only transfer 200 gb a month but if you are only doing eps files that would be pretty much impossible. all you need is internet connection on both computers.....i use a wireless linksys network. WORKS fabulous. it is har to make a pc an mac work fluently on a network 2gether.
